I've slipped into the middle of a series......I need to read the others!!

To say we are reading a murder mystery, Dead as a Duck is a lot of fun. I enjoyed the closeness of the main characters, the different personalities bouncing off each other.
Kit is a bit if a firecracker and very determined in the things that she does.....especially when suspicion is cast close to home.

As I said this is part of a series, however, it could easily be read as a standalone.....don't do it!! Go for the whole series and treat yourself to a cheeky bottle of wine.

A fun western starring Tim McCoy, king of the western at the time and who would make a biography full of stories for Hollywood to film. The movie is fun, with fast and realistic fight scenes. The story is also great, which despite being a cliché, it would be great if they were used for a series these days. We still have John Wayne, at the beginning of his career and with his excellent charisma already honed that would earn him the post of king of the western in the following decades. The film is fast, so all the unwinding too, but the film manages to close all the ends very well. I enjoyed it a lot.

An interesting look at the life of El Chapo and the Mexican drug cartels including the politics and widespread corruption surrounding the drug trade.

I listened to the audiobook and thought the narrator did a great job to put some 'life' into what could have been a bland story that could easily come across as a text book. The author has clearly done his research and there is a lot of information to digest.

Overall, a very interesting overview of the seedy and dangerous world of the drug trade and my thanks go to Arcturus Digital Audio and NetGalley for enabling me to listen to and share my thoughts of El Chapo.

Blazing Minds (92 KP) rated Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020) in Movies

Bill & Ted Face the Music (2020)

I remember seeing Bill & Ted’s Excellent Adventure back in the cinemas in 1989, it was a most excellent movie packed with time-travelling laughs and some brilliant music, now years after their Bogus Journey they are back to Face The Music and this time they bring their family with them.

The film does seem to start of fairly slow before it finds its footing to bring us not only what feels like how the original movies felt, but also gives us that nostalgic feel of those days of crazy films that were purely for the entertainment value to make us laugh and Bill & Ted Face the Music certainly had me laughing and laughing a lot.

This is the second instalment in the Ash and Blue series and I found it thrilling. There has been a lot of research gone into this book and it has a very easy flow to read. You can feel the emotions that the characters are going through and the conflict that Ryan feels with some of the decisions he has to make.

It definitely captured me from the first page and I couldn't wait to find out what was going on.

I'm not sure if there will be another one but I would certainly like to see one

I found this novella extremely interesting. There was a lot of information to take in. It's been written from the wife's point of view and you can't seem to work out 100% for guilty or innocent. My first instinct is yep, of course, he's guilty, he's bound to be but then there are little things that could say he's innocent.

I've enjoyed reading this and recommend you read it too.
