Interesting set-up
I think if someone described his movie to me beforehand I wouldn't have bothered, this type of story telling doesnt usually appeal to me. However, after the initial annoyance of the continuous back and forth between present and past events I did enjoy it. I love the colourful british language and the premise is good. Perhaps a little over the top.

The cast work well together.

"I have always been drawn to fiction that is written in sublime language and looks at the world through a romantic-realist lens, and this book does just that. It is the story of a White family in New Orleans, in the American South, and their Black servant; a story of race and love and family and dreams. It is filled with longing, melancholy and nostalgia, and it is so atmospheric, so hauntingly described, that the reader never quite emerges from the book."

A weepy number to end the weekend
This tale of love and loss takes us to the beautiful Island of Guernsey, where pig farmer Dawsey has been corresponding with Juliet. Juliet travels from London to meet the society that banned together over roast meat and literary greats, to fill the loneliness of the Nazi occupation of Guernsey in WWII. Juliet visits wanting to share their story, and instead shares their hearts and lives. A touching story of pain and healing.

Story has something for everyone
Really enjoyed this!
I did tut a little when my wife put this on for my daughter, but I was honestly surprised... I ended up really enjoying it, and there were loads of parts I ended up laughing gleefully at.
The story has something that'll hit home for everyone, and makes it all the easier to love.
Even if you don't have young kids, this is definitely worth a watch.

This is Not a Love Story (Love Story Universe) by Suki Fleet
"This is Not a Love Story" is both the title of the book, and a description of what it is about. This isn't a light and fluffy romance. This is hard-hitting, dark, and gritty, that tells you in no uncertain terms just how hard it is to be on the streets... and even then you can imagine it's a whole lot harder than even your imagination can go.

Remee and Julian have been there for each other over the past couple of years. Remee was just thirteen when he came to the streets, for reasons you find out. You don't know how old Julian was, but these two have bonded, for good, or so you hope. However, life on the streets is tough, and things happen to loosen that bond, possibly even break it.

There is so much that goes on in this story, and yet it all flows together perfectly. Remee may seem fragile, but his spine is made of steel. There is an outstanding supporting cast of characters too, with Crash topping the bill. He is brilliant, and I really hope to hear more about him soon.

With no editing or grammatical errors that I noticed, this story was one to pull me in, and keep me turning the pages long after I was supposed to have put it down. I have no hesitation in recommending this story.

Entertaining
I've read reviews of this movie and they mostly were not good. I honestly don't know why. Perhaps people were trying to take it too seriously? Anyway, I enjoyed it very much. A fun fantasy story filled with magic, monsters, samurai and of course, sword fights. I have always enjoyed samurai movies(Seven Samurai is my absolute favorite). This one was just a lot of fun. The acting and cinematography were well done and the story flowed nicely. Plenty of intense action and it even had a love story. Didn't have the happiest of endings but not all movies do. Supposedly based on a historical group of samurai in Japan but, of course, with some great fantastical story telling weaved throughout. This one is definitely worth a watch!
