I first read Dracula as part of a film and fiction course at University: read the book; watch the film. It is, of course, the most famous of all vampire stories.
Unlike the movie version, the story is told from the point of view of the various secondary characters (who are all writing in their diaries or memoirs): Dracula, himself, is never at the forefront. Rather, he is an ominous shadowy presence in the background throughout. This is actually quite effective: by disassociating the reader from the villain, Stoker manages to both convey the deadly mysteriousness of the Count, and side-steps the danger of the reader sympathizing too much with Dracula, while that character is also able to be abroad during the day-time; just not with the powers he has at night.
Finally, and unlike the film version which bears the same name, in the book Dracula is not given the same back-story: Mina, for instance, is never described as being his long-lost love! In this sense, the film is much more of a Gothic love-story than the original source material!

A dogs purpose again
I love a good heartfelt dog movie. My dogs love them too, they will sit and watch with me and actually get invested. And though we enjoyed this one just as much as the others that fall in the dog tearjerker movies it loses some points in my opinion in just being a repeat of the film it follows. Yes, I know it has differences but they're too small. Literally, the same joke is made about when bailey comes back as a girl. It is funny but it was already told. Don't get me wrong I like the story. I like the small connections to the first film. However, A Dogs Purpose was so special and unique they were hardpressed to make a sequel. I get it, the premise of the story can go on forever. That's the point of reincarnation but that doesn't mean the story HAS to continue. Now I do recommend this movie it is enjoyable but in my honest opinion, it wasn't necessary especially when other movies with the same idea "Dog narrated dramas" keep popping up and being successful.

It had been a long time since I had read The Darkest Minds so going into this book without that recap was difficult. Once I figured out the characters it was a wonderful story that everyone should read. I think since the movie came out more and more people will be reading the series and continue onto this one. I know I will need to reread the Darkest Minds in order to truly love this one.
The cover is beautiful and the story is better. Rebecca is a complex character that we get to know better.
Perfect for fans of the original series as well as anyone who enjoys fantasy, magic, and strong characters who want to beat the odds and stick together as a group. A really touching story that will be loved by many ages.

I learnt a lot about Autism from this book
I absolutely loved this story. It is very thought provoking and I learnt a lot specifically about autism. I love this whole family (Rosie, Hudson and Don), Hudson is such a sweet little boy he had my heart.
It is a beautifully written story. Towards the end of the book there is a part that nearly had me bawling my eyes out, Hudsons speech. Book three in the series, but is this the end? Maybe, as it wraps up it all up at the end pretty well no cliffhanger but we will have to wait and see. Parts had me laughing… An uplifting, inspiring story. I enjoyed every minute of it.
I awarded a well deserved four stars and highly recommend. A brilliant read. Eye opener. Page turner. Full of facts. Hard to forget.

This is one of the companion stories to the Grishaverse novels, and I loved it.
I really respect when authors put together stories that would be in the folklore of the world they built. I can imagine Alina or Nina getting told this story when she was a kid.
I loved how this story was so much about girl power and a woman's rights to her own personhood.
I enjoy any kind of fairy tale, but I especially love one that takes place in a world I adore. The language used was very mysterious and lyrical, much like the Grimm Brothers or Hans Christian Anderson would use in their classic fairy tales.
I loved the twists and spins in the story.

Don't trust rivers, they may be FREAKING GODS IN DISGUISE!?!?!?!?

I think this is one of my new favorite games. I love games that have a campaign option. It allows for greater playability. This game is competitive, however, it is not a "sabotage" style of competitiveness. My friends and I tend to not handle those games well because someone always takes a move personally. In this game, there really isn't any of that. The storybook is my favorite part. We have other players read the story you land on for you and then the title of your two choices and then you decide which choice you are going to make before the rest of the story is read. It adds to the mystery! It becomes a "choose your own adventure" game and makes it possible to play the game again and again without repeating the same story line.
