Pearl Harbor (2001)
Pearl Harbor (2001)
2001 | Action, Drama, War
Movie set around the events of the surprise Japanese attack on the US naval base of Pearl Harbo(u)r in 1941, that mixes the action around that attack with a love triangle between Kate Beckinsale, Josh Hartnett and Ben Affleck with the latter two playing two best friends in love with the same girl, and with both Hartnett's Danny and Kate's Evelyn believing Ben's Rafe to be dead - at least, for about the first half hour or so - after he is shot down in Europe.

Of course, he returns from the dead after Danny has fallen for Evelyn and she for him, and just before the attack on Pearl Harbour begins ...

Obvious how said love triangle is going to end.

The cover is gorgeous, the blurb amazing, but the love triangle ruins it all.
I wanted to love this book. The plot and creativity was so well thought out that I read it in one day. I enjoyed the development of each character, except the main. She did not grow, she did not learn, and she was beyond indecisive/annoying and that for me ruined it.

I thought this was something. She wants to marry for love. Her brother thinks she should get married for her son sake. Benjamin get blamed for something he did not do. Though Joshua Glick and others. She fears about her secret coming out and destroying any love in her life. Carolyn need to learned to trust god. Her brother Amos has to learn so lesson as well. Find out what happens durning love triangle with Carolyn Lapp.

"The love triangle in this movie has probably been the biggest influence on my writing. Truffaut’s rivals aren’t out to destroy each other, they love each other as much as the woman they’re chasing, and this makes the conflict and complications all the more powerful. This film taught me that as a screenwriter you have to have compassion for all your characters, and that nothing is ever black and white."

Wonderful face paced love triangle filled contemporary romance - I read it nearly in one sitting and once you get into it a bit you get hooked and just can't put the book down. I'm so happy to see that it's a series because I NEED to know what happens with a few of the secondary characters .. loved it!
