Amazing range of Sfx
A mindbending strange film
Another super hero Marvel film that will dazzle your eyes, if not your mind. All the magic, space, time and other dimensions makes it feel less connected to the rest of the Marvel universe. It's totally over the top, but the range of Sfx shots it leads to are amazing. A bit like inception on steroids. Interesting visually but the story will probably wash over you.

Ross (3284 KP) rated The Alloy of Law: A Mistborn Novel in Books

I really struggled with the second age books. This, the first volume, takes some time getting used to, moving from a more traditional fantasy setting into something of a Western setting. The magic system has changed somewhat due to what happened in the first trilogy, so it is good to see how a character with access to only one metal's power compares.
A good book on its own, if you can handle the western setting, but nothing compared to the first age trilogy.

I haven't read many books, if any, that deal with a poison tester, so I found the premise in Poison Study very interesting. The plot, the characters, everything was so well-done and fascinating that I became immersed into the story so much that I didn't notice anything that went on around me. Ms. Snyder has a lovely, uninterrupted, and smooth style of writing that is very easy to read. I can't wait to get to Magic Study next! :)

Thoroughly enjoyable film, with a superb cast (and yes, you get to see Kevin Bacon’s willy) and more twists than any other movie I’ve ever seen - the twists just keep on coming, they even carry on whilst the end credits are running! Very cleverly written - however this is one of those films that loses some of its magic on a second watch as you know what’s coming, but it’s still one of those films that you just have to watch.

Wow.. I love how this one brought everything together... the sisters... the guys.. the magic.. and owen's amazing yet totally crazy mother. lol All of it makes sense through this book. Only thing I don't like is that it left it where I want one more to see where they are all at in a few years lol. Especially with what happened at the end (no spoilers here). Amazing series and I'm so glad I got to read and review it.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2395 KP) rated The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy find a magic wardrobe leads them to a new land, they also learn they hold the key to a prophecy that will end the eternal winter brought on by an evil witch. I first read this book in 3rd grade. I loved it then. I love it now. A magical story that captures the imagination.

Fantastic all the way
This film is full of magic, humour and the true meaning of what family is all about. A few good plot twists along the way to keep you on your toes, and the actors play their parts fantastically, Harry Potter move over!!!!
It is not just for kids, adults will enjoy the twists and turns along the way too.

AT (1676 KP) rated God Country in Books
Dec 21, 2018 (Updated Dec 21, 2018)
An elderly man suffering from Alzheimer's comes into possession of a magical sword called Valofax. With Valofax, he regains his memory in the sword's presence, and defends his family and world against an alien being that wants Valofax. It is a story of magic, fantasy, war, family, and love.
The only reason I gave God Country only an 8 is because I thought it ended abruptly. I think it could have been much more, even with the same overall point of the story.

The House with a Clock in its Walls is SO GOOD! From the first tick to the last tock, I enjoyed every second of this movie. I grabbed my Magic 8 Ball and asked it a few questions. Will other people enjoy this movie as much me? Most Likely. Will this become a classic movie that is enjoyed for years to come? Outlook Good. Is The House with a Clock in its Walls a wonderful movie? All Signs Point to Yes.

I was very pleasantly surprised by this book. When I started it I was afraid that it was going to be like every fairytale about a princess. Dead mother, absent father, unwanted suitor, magic, the clearly right boy choice. But As I read I found myself enraptured by the main character and her relationship with her sisters. The story was fun and had some unique twists. I found this to be a great, light read that just made me happy.
