I am still on the fence about this one. On one hand, I enjoy historical menage a trois much more than contemporary ones. That being said, this one did have it’s faults. While I enjoyed the dynamic between the two male leads, I didn’t feel much chemistry between them and the heroine. The mysticism aspect also came off as convenient writing. It could have really added to the story but instead it just seemed to excuse why things were the way were without much explanation.

Overall, I did enjoy this read. The storyline was interesting enough and most of the erotic scenes are well written. I wasn’t wowed by it, but, knowing what I know now, I would have still read it.

3.5 stars.

I'm not a big fan of menage books, there's generally too much going on for me and in this there were a lot of erotic scenes involving more than just out two main characters and it didn't do anything for me.

I don't mind a bit of kink but some bits of this book were a little too much for my tastes.

That being said, if those scenes were removed and it was just Sam and Mitch I would have given it a higher rating as what they shared from early on was something special.I loved the beginning and the end but the in between went a little awry for me.

Nevertheless I liked it.

I have been really into menage books lately. However, they either end up being absolutely amazing or pure garbage. I wasn’t sure how to feel about this novel going in because I find I don’t really enjoy the whole “rock star” scene nor do I like when the author has to use the “one of them has a dark secret” trope (especially since the secret it usually something stupid…)

This novel, however, had everything. It had humor, it had drama, and it had heat. I was surprised by the dialogue. Dialogue can make or break a book for me, but Derrick knew what she was doing. I wish I could have liked the female lead more, but she just didn’t sit right with me. I felt like she was too delicate even though she tries to be strong. I found her personality grating at points.
