This is a cute little kids' comic that is both fun and has some good messages. It has some surprisingly deep concepts, such as animal testing, PTSD, and agoraphobia, but touches on them in a light way so not to disturb children (hopefully). I abhor animal testing so this probably bothers me more than it would a child, although it is aliens doing the testing in the book. Besides that, the characters are cute and well-represented, the drawings are nice and clear, and the colors are vibrant and fun. A very cute book that could be expanded into a series.

Touching Tree Tale
I grabbed this book to read before making suggestions to my students and I fell in love with it. It is a wonderful tale of a town, girl and a tree full of animal friends. It takes a few chapters to get into, but once you get hooked, you can't put it down. The messages learned along the way are lessons that children... and many adults need to remember going through life. I really liked the concept of wishes and sharing them to allow others that feeling of being helpful. I suggest this book to any parent or teacher to read aloud. Amazing conversations will occur.
Kelly Rettie (748 KP) rated Friend Request in Books

Initially the description grabbed me with the story being a social media friend request from a girl that died in school years before. It was a bit of a slow starter but when the invites for a reunion came from the same dead friend and messages etc, I kept reading because I had to know who was behind it and once i got to the end of the book it all made sense. A good read to pass sometime and if you make it past the first through slow chapters it turns out to be really good with a few twists that maybe others would, but I didnt predict....
