After having read The Twyford Code first, I was desperate to read The Appeal having heard rave reviews about it for the last year. I was apprehensive that it might not live up to the hype, but it didn’t disappoint me. I didn’t want to put it down and it kept me guessing until the very last page.
The Appeal is written as a series of correspondences: first as a letter from a lawyer to two of his students, then as messages between the two students and then the bulk of the book is emails, texts, handwritten notes and even police transcripts. It is interesting to try and work out what is happening when you only have some of the story (we don’t have all of the correspondence as some is quite obviously missing and we only have the replies) and there are so many layers and deceptions that you need to work through.
The bulk of the messages centre around a few main characters Issy, The Haywards: Martin and James, and Sarah-Jane and her husband Kevin. Trying to pick your way through their many messages between each other to try and work out what parts of their correspondence were real and which were fabrications was part of what kept me so enthralled in the whole book. Just as I thought I had it all worked out, we would go back to the lawyer and his two law students and it would make me rethink my theory and start all over again.
Janice Hallett has a great way of writing, and both of her books that I have read have been so different to anything I’ve ever read. I’ve read books were messages were included, but never one that was solely written in messages. I hope Janice Hallett has plans for more books, as I would like to see what else she can come up with that makes her books stand out.

Backmasking
Does any remember if you play any of the beatles songs backwards their are hidden messages. Same some of queens songs.

The term is called backmasking is a recording technique in which a sound or message is recorded backward onto a track that is meant to be played forward. Backmasking is a deliberate process, whereas a message found through phonetic reversal may be unintentional.

So how does tie into the movie, well in the movie, the main person gets a mysterious cd and once she plays it, it has hidden messages, the measages are the notes and the notes in the song keep on repeating themself.

The Plot: A radio DJ (Sheri Moon Zombie) in Salem, Mass., is plagued by nightmarish visions of vengeful witches after she plays a record by a mysterious group known only as "The Lords."

Heidi the main charcter- has a vision of women who worship Satan, at an unspecified time in the past, ritually birthing a baby then damning the child. The vision stops once Whitey turns the record off.

If you play some of the beatles songs and queens songs backwards their are satanic messages, same with the cd the heidi plays, but itstead of words its just notes/the insturmentis. Hedi gets really invested of the cd, same with people who thought if you played a beatles song backwards you hear hidden satanic messages.

This movie is very underrated. Its scary, mysterious, horrorfying, thrilling and more.

I would highly reccordmend this movie.

One of the best fitness trackers
I like my fitbit. Helps me track my steps, calories burned, heartbeat, and sleep. Alarms work. Syncing with the app can be a pain every now and then. Like the fact I can get text messages and notifications of phone call on it too.

Great app for all types of folks
Who doesn't know what Pinterest is? It's practically universal. I have boards for every kind of subject. it is especially helpful to writers for a lot of handy graphics with word replacements, name origins, etc. I have printed off activity pages, homework sheets, crafts, and numerous other fun stuff for my kids. I even have a board called "Fun Stuff for the kids"! The only negative that I have is that you cannot block messages from random people and I get a ton of spam messages. Not a huge deal, I just delete them but it's aggravating to have my phone go off numerous times to alert me to a ton of spam in my pinterest inbox.

Only saves contacts
I used to use Verizon Cloud for all my phone storage- pictures, videos, contacts, messages, etc. Recently they have changed to only holding your contacts for free and charging PER LINE to store everything else. Since then, I don't use it at all as there is nothing to distinguish it from other Cloud services.

This is such a beautifully simple, truthful book. It's as quiet, calm, and simple as much as it is full of deep meaning. It is full of whimsical innocence that comes with being a child, but the messages throughout will resonate with adults even more. It is a truly lovely little book about friendship, love, and life.

Too much symbolism
Too many hidden messages
Not really horror movie
Worst movie EVER
Promising start and then it becomes painful to watch. It has the most annoying characters ever. I personally can't remember the last time I watched such a bad movie. Too much symbolism, too many hidden messages which makes it hard to watch without scratching your head and wondering what in the world is going on. Only making a LITTLE bit of sense when you read about the movie online. I saw many positive reviews about it. I personally HATED it as I was expecting a proper horror movie.... it wasn't! And being a huge horror movie fan, I can say that it was very disappointing. So this was a waste of time and a big no-no for me.

Who texts? Just WhatsApp me
Probably the most used app on all phones. Texts are pretty much unused these days because of this... Unless you don't have a WiFi or signal connection. It's now part of the language. Sending pictures, videos, emojis, make calls, group messages, status and video calls. Does everything you need it to... And now it's free!

I can relate to this as a writer and a dreamer with a very active imagination. This was awesome and well written. I love this book now but younger me would have died with excitement over this story! I especially love the stories within stories and the positive upbeat and happy messages here. If you haven’t read it, you really should!

I think reading this before I read the second book in the Hell or High Water series wasn't the best idea as the characters were talking about things I had no idea about.

That being said I did like the IM messages between Mal and Cillian and that ending has definitely got me wanting to read a second book about them.
