Leanne Crabtree (480 KP) rated Jabril (Vampires in America, #2) in Books

If I'm honest I was more interested in the conclusion of Cyn and Raphael's story than the missing person case in this. Jabril was a bit of a psychotic control freak that I would have gladly staked myself if I could have jumped into this story. Power hungry a-hole.
As for the romance aspect. It took way too long for Raphael to surface in this--almost half way through--and the mystery aspect wasn't holding my attention that much. So when he reappeared I was jumping for joy wanting them to just get it on. It took a little too long for Raphael to admit he was wrong in what he did and for them to get back together but in the end, they did. Woohoo!
Hopefully the rest of the series will be more romance orientated or I won't be distracted by will-they won't-they storylines.

How Games Should Be Done
This game should have been game of the year last year. It has it all. Graphics, gameplay, story and characters. You play as Jin as he struggles to keep the code of the Samurai in order to free his clan and his family from the threat of the Mongols. The story makes you care not only about the main character but your friends that accompany you on your mission. As you embark on your journey you learn new tactics and gain charms that enhance your abilities in order to take down Khotun Kahn....the leader of the Mongol invasion. You will eventually master different sword styles and a bevy of weapons to use in your adventure. If you haven't played this game yet, then you are missing out. For any gamer this is a must play.

Awix (3310 KP) rated Layer Cake (2004) in Movies

British crime thriller. A highly professional and goal-oriented businessman in the drugs trade finds his well-organised life falling into chaos when he gets mixed up with stolen Ecstasy, Serbian war criminals and a missing heiress. Could he be forced to become something he despises - an actual gangster?
Looks a bit like a Guy Ritchie movie - and not without reason, for Matthew Vaughn produced the early Ritchie films - but the tone is (thankfully) more measured and serious. The plot is nothing very distinctive, although the subtext about Craig's character having to adopt the brutal methods of the people he encounters has some interest. Good performances from a strong cast; Michael Gambon is scary as a gang boss, but it's Daniel Craig's movie. This is apparently the performance that swung Bond for him, but the film deserves to be recognised on its own merits.

The Rambo film we didn't need
I was surprised when I suddenly saw a post advertising another Rambo film at the cinema. Seemed to pop up close to release without much promotion. It's been 11 years since the last Rambo film and that had a fitting enough ending to the franchise.
So back at the ranch we see him return to at the end of the last film, we find he has is playing uncle to a young girl and her mum who live there. After she takes a trip to Mexico she goes missing and it's up to Rambo to save the day. This definitely feels different to all the other Rambo films, more like a Taken plot with a girl needing rescuing. Overall its not a bad action film it just doesn't feel like a Rambo film. Let's just hope this is the last one.
