If you really want to know how I feel about Ragwort, just to say that I requested it on NetGalley, then immediately pre-ordered it on Kindle so that not only did I guarantee myself a copy, but the publisher also sent me cut scenes from the previous book, Gorse.
Totally worth it.
This is as jam packed with Cornish folk and magic as Gorse was, and after the disaster at the end of Gorse, the inhabitants of Mirecoombe are looking for something to believe in: the Old Ways, the Church…or the new name in town. The Mother. Just who is she anyway?
Th new Vicar is wonderful (let’s just say he’s open minded), Nancy is still learning the ropes as Keeper and missing Pet terribly. And then there’s the arrival of Nancy’s grandmother - and everything that comes after.
I’m being vague, and for good reason. If you haven’t started this series yet, I highly recommend it. I can’t wait for the final book in this series (if that’s what it’s going to be!!).

Finding Crime in the Vastness of Big Bend
A reporter has gone missing in Big Bend down in Texas, and Jack is asked to help find him. However, when Jack arrives, he finds some auditors have arrived to monitor everything going on in the park. And when out searching for the reporter, Jack finds someone else out there. The results of that encounter are tragic. What is happening in the vastness of this park’s wilderness?
It is always nice to revisit Jack and the supporting characters we’ve met along the way. Yes, Ev is involved as well. There is a plot point that will be hard for fans of the series. Overall, the plot bites off a bit too much and so a few of the connections feel forced and rushed. Likewise, a few of the minor players fade into the background and are hard to keep straight. The writing is still magical, and I love how the location came to life. I’m hoping we get more books with Jack soon.

Why Is Kyle Missing Trends?
In the couple of weeks before Christmas, Samantha Kidd has taken a temporary job as a social media influencer. Her friend Kyle Trent helped her get the job and is acting as her mentor. But when he misses a planned morning photo shoot, Samantha begins to worry. As she starts to get contradictory information about her friend, she knows something is wrong. Can she figure out what really happened?
This holiday entry, billed as a novella, is shorter than a typical novel in the series, but fans will hardly notice. There are still plenty of twists and turns that lead Samantha and us to the logical climax. Okay, so it was a bit rushed, but everything is explained. The characters, new and returning, are great, and we see more growth in Samantha. Along with that, we get some shenanigans from Samantha and plenty of humor. If you haven’t found this light, fun series yet, you’ll definitely enjoy it. And if you are a fan who hasn’t read this entry yet, you are in for a treat.

I’m becoming addicted to these Maeve Kerrigan books. Ok, I’ve only read Cruel Acts before this, but I’ve now bought all the others, and I’m writing this having read the book that comes AFTER The Cutting Place. So.
The characters of Maeve Kerrigan and Josh Derwent are, I’ll be honest, my main motivation for reading these books. The chemistry between them is quite something!
The cases are fascinating too. A mud lark on the Thames finds a human hand. DNA results say it belongs to a missing journalist, and so Maeve is pulled into what the journalist was last investigating: The Chiron Club. A private members club for rich, privileged men.
It’s not all about the case, and that’s what I like most about these books - the mix. Maeve’s new boyfriend Seth, isn’t as he at first seems, and a secret that Maeve has been keeping from Josh is revealed in the worst possible way.
These are just fantastic books, and I will be reading the backlist. That should keep me occupied 😳

Cameron and his partner, Jaden, are working on a case with missing children and it quickly moves on to something a lot worse and it's been going on for longer than anyone had realised. Cameron has tried to hide his attraction to Jaden for a long time but as she is a powerful telepathic, he hasn't always been successful. Paul is Jaden's friend who has supported her throughout her life. Cameron meets him in a dreamworld and the book takes on a whole new twist.
This is incredibly rich in detail and thoroughly thought out. The pacing is superb and you will be kept guessing to the end who the 'bad guy' is. If you want a mix of Thriller, Suspense, Ménage, Romance, MM, then this is definitely the book for you. I loved this book and hope to read more about Toronto's Elite very soon.

This is incredibly rich in detail and thoroughly thought out. The pacing is superb and you will be kept guessing to the end who the 'bad guy' is. If you want a mix of Thriller, Suspense, Ménage, Romance, MM, then this is definitely the book for you. I loved this book and hope to read more about Toronto's Elite very soon.

What Remains is like a book 2 for Laine and Sev, and whilst I really like them, I personally would have loved to have heard more about the others as well. The spirits of McKinton go missing, all at the same time, and it coincidentally at the same time as a Wiccan Coven visits and Sev gets a phone call from his sort-of estranged sister.
Whilst the story itself is just as hot and entertaining as the others, I would have liked more about why the ghosts disappeared when they did, and why. Where did they go and did they have a choice to come back or not? I did like how all of the other couples got a mention, albeit a quick one.
Showing nice growth to the series and the characters, this is a good addition to the Southern Spirits.

Whilst the story itself is just as hot and entertaining as the others, I would have liked more about why the ghosts disappeared when they did, and why. Where did they go and did they have a choice to come back or not? I did like how all of the other couples got a mention, albeit a quick one.
Showing nice growth to the series and the characters, this is a good addition to the Southern Spirits.
