Pure neuroscience!
This book is a fantastic view into the neuroscience behind zombies. It explains the how's, whys, and reasons that this pop culture monster could exist.

This is not watered down. If neuroscience is not your thing you won't enjoy this book. It uses highly technical jargon that might confuse people not versed in this topic.

With that said I enjoyed this book. It had the right amount of braiiins to keep me satisfied.

"The ultimate prose book. There is no one greater or darker than Carson. This book follows a creature named Red who is part boy, part winged monster. It's a coming of age story about a Kafkaesque boy and the exploration of his body and sexuality. Absolutely brilliant from start to finish. I used a quote from it to open the last book I wrote, "What's it like to be a woman listening in the dark?" That's the million dollar question."

When the head of the Venomous Animals Research Institute is found dead in the lab with a Gila monster next to him, Joe and Tom are called in to find out what is going on. It might be an accident, but they don’t think so, especially when they realize just how few people actually liked the victim. With more incidents happening, can the pair find the killer?

I’ve really been enjoying rereading these books, and this book was no exception. I did remember who the killer was about half way through, but that didn’t dampen my enjoyment at all. I never wanted to put the book down. The suspects are strong and become well developed as we get to further into the book. There are really only three main characters, but I’m enjoying getting to watch them grow.

Second installment down! Happily, it was as easy & enjoyable to,plow through as the first. I still hold firm to my belief that Dexter is one of the best characters in modern writing. This book finds Dexter & his Dark Passenger tangling with & even admiring the handiwork of a monster even more horrific than he is.

I enjoyed how each individual story had a completelydifferent and unique monster that was dealt with differently each time. The ending was great and left me wanting to pick up the next book immediately. The only small downside was I was a little confused for a small section of the story in the middle.
