Witch
By Finbar Hawkins
⭐️⭐️⭐️
Set in the 17th century, a breathtaking debut, and a potential prize-winner, about the power of women, witchcraft, fury, revenge and the ties that bind us.
After witnessing the brutal murder of her mother by witch-hunters, Evey vows to avenge her and track down the killers. Fury burns in her bright and strong. But she has promised her mother that she will keep Dill, her little sister, safe.
As the lust for blood and retribution rises to fever pitch, will Evey keep true to the bonds of sisterhood and to the magick that is her destiny?
I can’t work out how I honestly feel about this book. It was odd bits I enjoyed and bits I couldn’t settle with. It was written really well but something is pulling at me to make me unsure. That possibly means no sense to anyone but me. I think I may come back and reread it at another time and see if I see it any differently. If you like folksy witchy books then I think you will like the feel of this story of a young girls journey to getting revenge and finding her inner witch.

Mothergamer (1571 KP) rated Ni no Kuni: Wrath of the White Witch in Video Games

Fantastic fantasy role playing game
I love this game so much and I've played it twice. The story is quite good and the game play is a lot of fun. The artwork of the game is beautiful and the music for it is great. There are tons of side quests to do along with the main story and just exploring is a lot of fun. It's a wonderful game that is enjoyable to play. I received an ebook copy via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review. This book had so much possibility however; I found myself getting confused during many parts of the story because the author themselves seemed confused when writing. I was completely thrown off by the fact that though her father sexually abused her she was more angry at her mother. This book was in need of proofreading before it went to print. A few typographical errors is one thing but this book seemed to be plagued by many. The book cover is absolutely beautiful. I don't recommend this book to any one.

Norman Bates is the ultimate villain
One of the first earl films to discuss mental illness
My favourite Hitchcock film
This Hitchcock film is astonishing for breaking boundaries. From being one of the first original horror movies, showing 'obscene' shower scenes, to discussing multiple personality disorder. From the first minute, the film is tense and the fact of what happens to the leading lady after 30 minutes is jaw-dropping. When Norman Bates is discovered, his final scene of becoming his mother is horrifying. One of the best Hitchcock films ever to have been made.

Ruth Frampton (577 KP) rated My Secret Dog in Books
Apr 10, 2018
Didn't get the pet you wanted for Christmas and thinking of getting one and hiding it in the cupboard? In this story, a little girl "adopts" a dog, and doesn't tell her mother. Keeping it in the cupboard teaches her that not everything should be kept in there. When she finally admits to her mum about her pet a good chat teaches her about responsibility.
An enjoyable read, with illustrations that are simple and easily taken in, but may not be to everyone's appeal this book is a good way to bring up the subject of responsible pet ownership with younger children.
