I actually thing I like this better than they both die at the end now - after reading this it makes you think about your life - I mean, I was in his place years ago and it brought back so many memories - pushing past your fears/issues and moving into a new phase of life is so astounding sometimes - anyone with depression should truly read this book - it's absolutely spectacular.

Didn't agree with the hype
I found this book slow moving, particularly the first 40%. Julianne as a character was interesting and engaging. Gabriel, however, I found hard to figure out and his character inconsistent. Some of his dialogue was difficult to believe. The premise for the story was good, although more could have been made of the forbidden aspect. I am unsure whether I will read the next ones.

I thought I'd really like this, but I just didn't. I understand what they were doing with the characters, but the first volume seemed to drag on without anything major happening. Everything that happened seemed not to propel the story forward in an enticing way. It almost seemed repetitive, though they WERE moving forward. This first volume just "was". Maybe others will enjoy it more than I did.

Perfect for children
This game is clear and fast moving perfect for children from about 7 years up. The game although clear and is to play is a bit basic but it is aimed at children. The game didnt take much set up either so you can just open the box grab a few cards and you're ready to go.

A lot happened throught volume 8, which I liked. Of course, there was the major battle between the heroes and the high priest, but there was also quite a bit that pushed the story forward, which I appreciate. It's much nicer to read moving forward instead of feeling like I'm going around in a circle while an entire volume is focused on just one small part of the story.
