Paul (106 KP) rated Dead to Me in TV

Class comedy drama
What could be a boring story regarding a womans life after her husbands death gets spun on its head. Christina Applegate and the rest of the cast put their acting capabilities to the full with this biting story about grieving, loss and redemption.
The twists come thick and fast without being contrived. Give it ago it feels fresh for such a well treaded subject.

I really enjoyed this book. At first I wasn't sure due to it was a little slow moving in the beginning but very quickly it picked up. There were a lot of twists I wasn't expecting and I loved the mystery of it all. I loved the writing and characters and I felt for the "vampires" along with the main character and her family. Overall I enjoyed this story and will be reading the 2nd one very soon :)

Great Biopic
I really enjoy figure skating although I do not know a lot about it, so I came into the movie knowing nothing about Tonya Harding.
The movie tells a good story, but being a biopic there are different points of view. This is cleverly handled by the way they decided to shoot the movie, so it allows them to tell different sides of the story.
It is entertaining and moving, with brilliant performances all round.

This one was a strange read. It didnt have much of a storyline to it, but I still felt melancholic after reading it.
This story is reminiscent of going through something shocking and coming out the other side of it lost and alone. I like it but it was very sad and made me feel lonely.
Sad, slightly creepy and slow moving, this one is definitely not something you want to pick up after a traumatic event.

I really liked the story line of this film, it felt a little different than anything else that was released around this time. It was a little slow moving, and took a bit to get going for me.
Shortly after I watched this film, I broke my arm and it had to have a cast put on. I'm not going to lie, I had a few alien-arm nightmares as a result of this movie.

Great story about two brothers who compete in a ufc style fight circuit. Each brother has their own reasons for doing so and end up facing off against each other. It's a very moving story that unfolds well and leaves you cheering for the two. There's a lot of emotion in this one. This was the first movie I ever watched with Tom Hardy in it. Made me a fan. This action drama is really worth a watch!

AT (1676 KP) rated Pandora Hearts 1巻 in Books

I'm not usually a fantasy fan, so Pandora Hearts (book 1) was a little confusing at the beginning. However, once the main characters were established, and the plot started to take form, it got a lot more interesting. By the end of the first book, there was a clear direction that the characters were moving in, so now that it all fits together, it'll be easier to move on to book 2! On with the story!

I remember when this incident was all over the news but I have never known the full story. What a pretty dreadful life Harding had. I nearly cried for her myself when she was pleading her case at the end. The amount of skating, comedy and violence is perfectly balanced in this film so it keeps you moving along, focused but not too emotional (until that bit at the end anyway!). So glad I finally watched this film.

Best war movie since saving private Ryan
Towards the end of ww2 allies tanks are dwindling this is a story of one tank who's crew stop german SS crews moving forward .all the feeling of war in a claustrophobic tank brotherhood & desperate measures the Germans would go to keep the foot in the war are in this movie definitely a war movie to watch if not seen it before & to watch again if you have .

Sarah Betts (103 KP) rated Finding Dorothy in Books

I'd like to thank Netgalley and the publisher for providing me with a copy of Finding Dorothy in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book. Maud Baum was an absolutely fascinating woman and this book shows it off wonderfully.
I adored the strong relationship between her and Frank. It wasn't always perfect but it was wonderfully passionate.
Maud's determination to protect the legacy of Oz was moving and her interactions with Judy were beautiful and tragic.
