AWESOME !!!!
I have been waiting for this book since the last one came out (Which seems like for ever ago, but in reality was only a couple months).
Thor finally gets the girl, Or in this case a Queen Mother. Instead of the Queen Mother playing matchmaker this time, her kids decide to push her out side of her shell and set up a series of dates; really publicity stunts to gauge the public's response to the Queen Mother moving on and the possibility of new love for her. But the Queen Mother already has someone in mind, if she can get him to go along...
One of my favorite books by Carol Moncado so far, although I think I say that about ever book she writes. I would Highly recommend putting this book on your TBR Pile.

"It’s the ultimate, sprawling ensemble Altman film — the way each character has their own story to such a degree, and he pulls it all together. It has these thrilling moments, these funny moments. The music is both very moving and satirical, funny and beautiful too. Keith Carradine’s song, “I’m Easy,” is a beautiful song, and some of the other songs like “200 Years” by Henry Gibson is hilarious. It’s just ridiculous. So, that you could have all of this go into one big collage where you have realism, satire, romance — it’s all there — is quite a feat. And I actually saw this when I was a teenager — fourteen or fifteen — and I was bored. I didn’t really understand what I was watching, but I saw it a little bit later, and it kicked off something else in me."

"It may not be fair to say this is one of my top five, since it’s my dad’s film, and I’m in it as a youngster (playing Kevin Costner’s son); but even at 7 years old, when I first saw it, I remember sitting through the whole 3-hour film without moving. There’s something to the interplay of editing and dialogue that hooks me, no matter how many times I watch it, back into the investigation of the murder of President Kennedy. And perhaps because the crime remains unsolved, the film remains infinitely intriguing to watch, as though each time viewing it, you expect new revelations Instead, upon each viewing, I feel compelled to go out and research more about our country’s dark, hidden history. To create that kind of curiosity in an audience is a remarkable feat in itself."

I wasn't entirely sure if I wanted to read this, if I'm honest, but since it was on Scribd I thought "why not?" and started it.

Unfortunately it didn't grab my attention straight away. In fact, in the thirty per cent that I read, I was kinda bored. Okay we'd met several characters and knew that Persephone had bitten off more than she could chew but it was moving far too slow for me.

For me the best bit was Johnny. I can't quite picture him with all his tattoos and piercings, facially, but he sounds like quite a cool guy and maybe if Seph had shown a little more interest in him and taken him up on his offer of help (before I fully lost interest) then I might have been able to continue the story.

Not for me.

Christopher Nolan on 05 Nov:

“Warner Bros. released Tenet, and I’m thrilled that it has made almost $350 million. But I am worried that the studios are drawing the wrong conclusions from our release — that rather than looking at where the film has worked well and how that can provide them with much needed revenue, they’re looking at where it hasn’t lived up to pre-COVID expectations and will start using that as an excuse to make exhibition take all the losses from the pandemic instead of getting in the game and adapting — or rebuilding our business, in other words.
Long term, moviegoing is a part of life, like restaurants and everything else. But right now, everybody has to adapt to a new reality.”

Me too. Being able to go back in August, I forgot how much I missed it now not being able to go again is awful. Watching films at home just isn’t the same!

Did they not refund you for that? I think for me Cineworld did take a partial payment but then refunded it a week or so later. I haven’t paid my full subscription since February/March I think!
