"Janet Malcolm is such an intellectual badass. This book was an extension of her piece of journalism in the New Yorker, where Malcolm has been a contributor for decades. It’s the fascinating story of a murder trial in the insular Bukharan-Jewish community of Forest Hills, Queens, in which a young physician is accused of hiring an assassin to kill her estranged husband, a respected orthodontist. Malcolm uses the case as a way to examine how a murder trial is conducted, and to look at the American judicial system as a whole. It was the book that first sparked my interest in true crime."

Ok follow up
A follow up to @Murder Mystery (2019) that doesn't seem to have had much publicity. Just popped up on Top picks this week.
Much the same formula as before our detective couple are invited to a wedding on a remote island, perfect setting for a murder or not?
Didn't really make great use of the remote island setting and less of a Murder Mystery this time round with more action. Still very fun scenes nearly all with the main couple on screen. Maybe not as lavish as the first but still a fun film.

Or, as it's known here in the UK, Cluedo.

The murder mystery board-game.

That's the starting point for this movie, which - basically - is a live action version of said game, leaving the audience guessing along trying to discover who committed the murder at a dinner party being hosted at a mansion, where - it tranpsires - all the guests (all going by aliases ie Mrs Peacocke, Miss Scarlette, Professor Plum etc) were being blackmailed.

Apparently released with 3 endings at the time, with each cinema only showing a single ending but now (on TV/home release) with all 3 endings shown one after the other.

Awesome on Audiobook
The Girl on the Train on audio book with the 3 different voice actors was sensational. The main character is very depressing but it works really well for the story. It's like the ultimate girl drama that ends in murder. Intense.
