Elllie Rush is a rookie with the LAPD bicycle patrol division. Her desire to become a detective gets an early start when she gets involved in the murder of a classmate. Is she helping the investigation? Will it help or hurt her career?

This new series from Naomi Hirahara is off to a great start. The characters are fully formed already, and that gives a depth to the plot that I really enjoyed. The plot was interesting with some nice misdirection and twists along the way. I'm already looking forward to the next book in the series.

The first books in Stuart Gibbs's three series with Simon and Schuster in one paperback collection. You've got Belly Up, about the murder of a hippo at the new mega FunJungle. Then you'll join Spy School with Ben. Finally, you'll journey to the first colony on the moon and solve a murder there.

All three of these books are delightful. The characters are strong and the plots move forward quickly with great twists and turns. No matter what your age, you'll turn these pages as quickly as possible and then move on to the other books in these series.

Speaking of Murder by Tace Baker (Lauren Rousseau #1) – 4
Lauren is upset when one of her students is murdered. But that’s just the start of strange happenings in her community. What has happened to her formerly safe town?

The book started a little slowly, but once it got rolling, it was a great read. The characters were good, and the story was very intriguing with many different plot threads. Yet everything came together for a great climax.

NOTE: Tace Baker is actually the pen name of Edith Maxwell and no relation to me.

A murder mystery that will leave you dying of laughter!
Even though this film was made in the early 80's, the combine comedic talents of Don Knotts and Tim Conway make this movie a must see. Fans of the two stars will love to see them spoof murder mysteries; while others who do not know of the 2 comedians will come to appreciate their type of humor.
