Dean (6927 KP) rated Fortitude - Season 1 in TV

Great cast (2 more)
Beautiful location
Lots of twists
A cool icy thriller
A weird but compelling thriller set in a small town near the Artic circle. After a body is found could the town have its first ever murder? A strong cast line up, against a beautiful scenic backdrop and an often bizarre story that will have you on the edge of your seat.

Zac Effron was very good (1 more)
Shown from his ex partner perspective
Keeping it short.
A good film with isn't 100% factual correct filmed from his ex partner perspective. Not just focusing on Bundy crimes. Zac. Effron dose great as Ted. But think if he played a fictional murderer with his good looks. We could of have had a great murder cop film.

Cruise and Foxx deliver
Unsuspecting cabbie finds himself driving round an assasin who has dropped into town for a spot of serial murder.
Unexpectedly good. Probably the best performances I had seen from both Cruise and Foxx at this point.
Foxx's character is nicely convincing thanks to a lack of fake hollywood-heroism. Cruise's charater is just a bad, baaad man.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2470 KP) rated 7th Heaven (Women's Murder Club, #7) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The two cases the women's murder club takes on this time include home fire murders and a missing Politian's son. One of the cases was well plotted and fun, while the other fizzled out before an improbable and unsupported end.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2470 KP) rated 2nd Chance (Women's Murder Club, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
The women of the Women's Murder Club must come together when seemingly random killings begin to show the target is policemen and their families. There were a couple of plot points that seemed a bit cliche, but I really did enjoy this book.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2470 KP) rated Candy Cane Murder (Hannah Swensen, #9.5) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
This novella collection contains three Christmas themed mysteries starring the author's regular series characters. As a fan of the first two, I loved their stories. Leslie's left me a little cold, but I do intend to give her series a try soon.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2470 KP) rated Black Ice (Young Sherlock Holmes, #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
A teenage Sherlock Holmes takes a trip to London to visit his brother only to find his brother as the only suspect in a locked room murder. It's an interesting and fun book, but it was rather slow to get going.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2470 KP) rated Double Exposure (Bert & Nan Tatum, #2) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Identical twins Nan and Bert had no plans of getting involved in another murder, but when an identical twin stands accused of a crime, they have to jump in. Another great mystery full of twins with two fun main characters.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2470 KP) rated The Chocolate Castle Clue (A Chocoholic Mystery, #11) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Lee Woodyard finds herself in another case when a reunion of her aunt's old high school singing group leads to a murder. As always, I love these characters and the plot moves forward very quickly. The definition of a light but fun mystery
