Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated Air Time (Charlotte McNally, #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Investigative reporter finds that knock offs of designer purses are serious business when her story about them leads to murder. Meanwhile, her relationship with her boyfriend hits a rather serious hurdle. I'm a guy, so I had a hard time getting into the plot about the purses, but eventually, I did. Overall, I did enjoy the book.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated Dating is Murder in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Wollie's appearance on a reality dating show gets her involved when a German au pair, and volunteer member of the crew, goes missing. The plot is a bit slow in the first half, but it picks up for the second. Wollie is a wonderful main character, and the rest of the cast is great as well.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated Cherry Cheesecake Murder (Hannah Swensen, #8) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
While Hannah tries to deal with the double marriage proposals from Mike and Norman, a Hollywood production company comes to town. However, the director is a jerk, and he is murdered by a rigged prop gun. This is another fun book, although it was slow getting started.
You've got to try the title recipe. It's wonderful!

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated Mum's the Word (A Flower Shop Mystery, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When Abby Knight's car is damaged by a hit and run driver, she is outraged. Her outrage only grows when she thinks there is a connection with a nearby murder. The quirky characters are lots of fun, and I can't wait to visit them again. However, the plot needed a little more ironing out to truly work.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated The Shooting Script (Diagnosis Murder, #3) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
When Mark hears a gunshot at a neighbor's house, he investigates to find two dead bodies who have been dead for more than a couple of minutes. He's certain the killer is the person with the perfect alibi. Can he prove it? Lots of twists and turns with characters who live up to their TV show persona. Another great read.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated Murder is Binding (Booktown Mystery, #1) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
In a town devoted to bookstores, Tricia Miles owns the mystery bookstore. When her neighbor, owner of the cook book store, is found murdered, Tricia jumps in to find out who did it. The book was entertaining with interesting characters, but the story was a little weak. I do plan to give the series a second chance.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated Dead Man's Puzzle (Puzzle Lady #10) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
With Sherry out of town on her honeymoon, Cora will have to be pretty creative to solve the latest crossword related murder spree and keep her secret intact. I was happy to see that the character interactions that had grown beyond stale were revitalized here. I hope that continues with the next book in the series.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated How to Dine on Killer Wine (Party Planning, #5) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Presley Parker's latest party is a wine tasting in the beautiful Napa Valley. But murder follows her when a despised environmental crusader is found murdered after the party. Convinced the cops have the wrong killer, she starts investigating. I find these books fun. The plot was a bit uneven, but overall an enjoyable read.

Erika Kehlet (21 KP) rated Fatality by Firelight in Books
Feb 19, 2018
Fatality by Firelight sucked me right in from page one. Cat’s Victorian home is the perfect cozy setting for a writer’s retreat. When one of her guests is suspected of murder, she has to play detective as well as hostess. Fatality by Firelight is full of romance, good food, and plenty of suspects.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2444 KP) rated Dawn's Light (Restoration, #4) in Books
Mar 9, 2018
As the pulses finally draw to a close, 13 year old Beth Branning witnesses a murder. If she keeps quiet, will she be safe? This is the fourth book in a series I have enjoyed, but this one tried to cram too much into the pages. As a result, it wasn't as good as it should have been.
