The Greatest Understatement
My daughter presently likes this better than "Hamilton." The cast is amazing, but I especially love Keala Settle. It makes me happy on a rainy day, and that's a feat.

Fatimah Asghar's poetry in If They Come For Us is everything I hoped it would be. It was raw and powerful. Her words paint her world and pull on your emotions. Her verses gave me chills and left me breathless. I particularly fell in love with My Love For Nature.

"I love all his books. I often talk about him and Jane Austen in the same breath. I think people are slightly mystified by that because superficially they’re such different writers. But they both have a very unsentimental approach to human nature. They can be profoundly moving without ever becoming mawkish."

"Senegalese director Djibril Diop Mambéty’s 1973 film about a young man and woman in a modern African city who don’t fit in. So they get out. They get far out. The raw energy and often hyper-experimental nature of the music, visuals, and editing make this a favorite. Beautiful. Fully punk."

"You've got to understand something about me and my career: I'm a romantic in life philosophy, in how I look at the world, the beauty of nature, of relationships. But I never got to do those roles. In my twenties, I wanted to be in a Splendor in the Grass."
