Thomas Jane is amazing
Just a good old fashioned ghost story
I try not to put too much stock in Netflix produced Horror Films. I Am The Pretty Thing... Was not so great, and prior King offering Gerald's Game could've been better.
But they got this one right. It was creepy as shit.
A true slow burn o a movie, it drags a little in the beginning, but the slow spiral downward in to true dread for Jane's character is felt by audience members.
A true story of a man's slow decent into insanity and desperation that makes only the most heartfelt viewer feels for poor ol' Wilf.
All in all, this is a good offering by Netflix. I hope they follow it up with something just as good.
Dread is as good as fear when it comes to the horror genre. And dread is what this makes you feel.

Wide range of films and series (4 more)
Well priced and reasonable package options
Good at creating own content
App and site are easy to navigate
Subtitles and captions available
Some genres lack in content (3 more)
Slow to release newer films
Not everything has subtitles
App sometimes malfunctions on Amazon Fire Stick
Good for series lovers
I have used Netflix for a number of years now and the one thing I've noticed is that they aren't the best for being up to date with the latest movies and releases, especially in the horror field. However, over the years Netflix has excelled in producing their own material and have turned out some very stellar series that have truly been worth the watch. They're also very good for kids programs, with the ability to create a child's profile that limits them ONLY to programs rated for under 12s, which is great for my 5-year-old who can always find her favourite cartoons on her tablet using her profile.

Can download programmes
I have lost count of the amount of series I have binge watched on Netflix now.
I initially was just just going to use the one month free so I would be able to finish watching The Originals but, low and behold, almost two years in I'm still watching.
The selection of TV shows and films are great. They're often things I've meant to watch but haven't had a chance to yet but there they are.
Downloading programmes for on the go is definitely a plus. I like to have a few in my tablet in case I get stuck anywhere or the Internet where I'm staying isn't the greatest.
Only drawback is sometimes Netflix forgets exactly where you were in a programme of you switch between devices (start watching on the tablet and then resume on the TV later). It's such a trivial complaint however that it hasn't put me off.

ClareR (5879 KP) rated Tales of the City (Tales of the City, #1) in Books

Tales of the City is set in San Francisco in 1976 - three years after I was born, so how can I feel nostalgic?! This is how a feel good book should be written. I loved it.
Theyâre all great characters, and I warn you - this is a laugh out loud book, and when you have to explain to the 12 or 14 year old sons WHY youâre laughing, the explanations can be interesting! I feel fortunate that a friend convinced me to go and see Armistead Maupin with her at my local literature festival, otherwise I donât know whether I would have ever picked up this book. Iâd simply never heard of Maupin, and I donât have Netflix to have heard about the TV series. Now I wish I had Netflix!
Iâm glad I have book 2 waiting in the wings, because I really want to keep living in 1970s San Francisco!

Awix (3310 KP) rated A Week Away (2021) in Movies
Mar 28, 2021
Fiercely innocuous Netflix family musical. Too cool for school (NB he's not actually that cool) bad-boy (NB nor is he that bad either) is given a choice between Juvie and going to church camp for a week. Cue lots of cute romance, gentle comedy, dancing and singing about the grace of God, and, wouldn't you know it, religious conversion.
A ruthlessly cynical grab at the juicy faith-based-movie market by Netflix. This one is better than most, I suppose: the songs aren't painful to listen to and everyone is clearly trying their hardest. But its determination to be completely non-threatening and wholesome renders it bland to the point of absurdity - the sentiments expressed are mostly inoffensive (although the subtext is inevitably authoritarian, as with most movies about finding God), but it's almost totally lacking in drama, grit, tension and any genuine sense of threat. Passable entertainment if you want to watch something totally unchallenging. But why would you?

I really enjoyed watching this, i enjoyed the interaction of the team with murphy and citizen z. There are a few things that leave you wanting to know what actually happened, some things leave you wanting closure. But overall i enjoyed it and look forward to series 2 appearing on Netflix.

I have had Netflix since it started(back when it was only discs you could rent). I loved it then and I love it now. There are only two things I have issues with:
1. It takes forever for them to add new movies and shows
2. They take away my favorites before I can watch them.

One of my favorite shows growing up, and it's one I still love to watch on a regular basis. The fact that TBS airs reruns all the time makes me so happy, as does the whole season being on Netflix for whenever I could use a pick-me-up and a moment to just chill! "Friends" is always good for a laugh, a cry, and all-around fantastic half hour of television.
