Micah Ulibarri (79 KP) rated Greg Davies: You Magnificent Beast in TV
Apr 28, 2018
Funny, but filthy
I've never heard of Greg Davies before. I have been enjoying British comedians from Netflix specials so I thought I'd give it a go.
It is pretty funny if at times so filthy that it's hard to get really into it. To jokes about his mother's sexual experiences to a furry sight gag, the subject matter is pretty raunchy.
Granted he does have a couple decent attempts at positive motivational moments.
Generally speaking I lughed, but not a lot.

Came across this on Netflix and thoroughly enjoying it, completely different to what I normally watch. Am about half way through series one and is compelling. It is a political drama based in Australia with twists and turns, the only problem is that I keep expecting the unusual to happen as Anna Torv plays the main role of a journalist but those into sci-fi may remember her from the series Fringe and to be honest I haven’t seen her in anything else.

This Netflix original action comedy stars the comedic trio from "Workaholics". The cinematography was good. The acting and storyline was pretty much what you'd expect from this group. There is some sexual and drug use content and a few gross violence scenes so this one really isn't for kids. If you're into "weird and goofy" comedies you'll enjoy this one. There are quite a few familiar comedic faces, as well. I'd say it's worth a watch if you're REALLY bored.

Sep 30, 2018 (Updated Sep 30, 2018)
This turned out to be one heck of a thriller. Netflix did it again. Very dark and intense tale that takes place in Alaska. Reading the description barely touches the surface of the movies depth. The story played out great and the acting was very good. The imagery and cinematography were very well done. It's a fairly violent movie so may not be for kids. I'd watch it first and decide for yourselves though, parents. REALLY worth a watch though.

Charley (64 KP) rated Sex Education in TV
Jan 26, 2019
Funny from start to finish
This Netflix show files the life of a 16year old lady and his struggles to navigate teenage life. His mum is a sex therapist and he has issues with his ability to get a girl.
Eventhough it is about teenagers I found that I could still enjoy the show as it made me laugh the things that you know all teenagers go through.
Looking forward to another series.

Erika (17789 KP) rated Ghosts of Sugar Land (2019) in Movies

I came across this short film on Netflix and decided to watch it because it was about Sugar Land. It featured a group of Muslim friends, and a dude that became Muslim and ended up radicalized.
My favorite part about the whole short film was that the guys being interview all wore hilarious Halloween masks to hide their identity because of the nature of the documentary. It also shows an interesting dichotomy between modern, 1st generation American Muslims and traditional Muslims.

I sort of enjoyed this! Sometimes Netflix documentaries stress me out and this one did a bit. I get that Joe Exotic's life was chaotic but I'm still not entirely sure of the order in which things happened. I might have to go watch it again but I have more questions now than when I started. I know a lot of people love this documentary and it is good I just think it could have been told better.

The trailer is better
Found this on Netflix and the trailer made the film look interesting, so as a family we settled down to watch it. i enjoyed it but my two sons thought it was terrible. Yes it took quite a while for the story to get going and all the action happened in the last quarter of an hour. Expected a few more shocks but they didn’t happen. The big question is was the film lining up for a sequel.
