A well crafted debut novel. The well knitted relationship that forms in this book will leave you as warm as your favorite blanket. Matthews uses hew knowledge of crafts to weave incredibly likeable characters both primary and secondary. It is hard to believe this is a debut novel. Well done!

"It’s always the beautiful simplicity of this story that transports me. Not a word is wasted. For such a short novel, it kind of approaches perfection in storytelling for me. Hemingway apparently said of the novel that it was the “best I can write ever for all of my life.”"

Took awhile to complete....
Another great Stephen King classic that I've finally read. I expected more Randall Flagg and more dark side than small town politics, but loved the ending of the novel Vs the old TV mini series... it's an old novel but I still wont spoil it... lol
