Merissa (12066 KP) rated All the King's Men: The Beginning (All The King's Men #6) in Books
Jun 7, 2023
This novella provides a history of All the King's Men, providing background on the vampire/dreck races, the suffering, mate bonds, and even those that aren't mated. Although I enjoyed this book, it didn't grab me as much as the others have done. Perhaps it is because there are a wide variety of people and subjects covered within a short amount of time, I'm not sure.
Still well-written and with no editing or grammatical errors that I found, I would recommend this novella to fans of the AKM series.

Cyn Armistead (14 KP) rated Cast in Moonlight in Books

This novella could serve as an excellent taste of the Elantra series if a reader didn't want to commit to something as long as one of the novels, as it occurs before the series begins, when Kaylin is a teen, It is the tale of her first days with the Hawks, and it is wonderful. I really enjoyed it.

Poe reborn
Although this is from a King novella it reminds me very much of Edger Allen Poe. A man kills his wife and is haunted by his decision. This dark and nasty and reveals the darkness inside murder.
BookInspector (124 KP) rated Beneath London's Fog in Books
Sep 24, 2020
The protagonist of this novella is Jonathan, a vampire, who is trying to blend in into society, and this book is told from his perspective. I really liked the main character, he is charismatic and very human-like. I enjoyed his thoughts and feelings, it was quite surprising to see how much warmth and love a vampire can have.
The Chocolate Lady (94 KP) rated 20 in Books
Oct 6, 2020
The unnamed protagonist in this expressive novella is only 20 years old, but she seems to have quite an old soul. Author Vatsal Surti describes the last months of her 20th year using a stream of consciousness type of narrative. Read more about what I thought of this poetic book here.
