Merissa (12066 KP) rated Garridan's Mate (Etherya's Earth #6.5) in Books
Dec 16, 2022
GARRIDAN'S MATE is part of the Etherya's Earth series, taking place before the battle between Bakari and Callie.
Garridan was born an aristocrat but prefers being a soldier. Siora is one of the first women allowed into the army. Together, these two are badass... once they can get past the misunderstandings that litter their every confrontation.
This was a great addition to one of my favourite series and I'm hoping to hear more about Sebastian and Celine. I also really want to go back and read Callie's story again, just because I can.
This packs a punch, even though it is a novella. The story flows perfectly and the pacing is spot-on. Everything you could ask for in a novella. A great addition to the series and absolutely recommended by me.

Blue Christmas Balls
By Nick Spalding
A laugh out loud seasonal novella from Nick Spalding, the bestselling author of the smash hit comedies Fat Chance & Love... From Both Sides.
One man. Three women. Twelve days to achieve Yuletide sexual glory!
Christmas is coming and Matt Bunion is on a mission. Somehow, he's made the huge mistake of remaining a virgin well into his twenties - a grievous error he fully intends to rectify before the Queen's speech starts.
But it's not going to be easy...
What with strange requests to molest living room furniture, painfully inserted action figures, and an extremely festive lady of the night, Matt will be lucky to reach Boxing Day with his pride and manhood still intact.
Ok so it was a little funny but in some parts trying to be too funny! For a novella it wasn’t bad at all I would definitely read more of his work! Don’t think I’ll look at an Ewok without thinking of this book though 😂!

It Was a Fall, Wasn’t It?
This is a short novella that is set back between the first two books. While Ellison and her daughter are off in Europe, Ellison’s mother, Frances, gets involved in a mystery. When she goes with one of her friends to check on the friend’s mother-in-law, they find the woman dead in her bedroom. But it couldn’t be murder. Frances doesn’t get involved in murder. The woman hit her head in a fall, right? Right?
I found Frances’s horror at getting caught up in the case to be funny. I also liked the fact that we got to know her better, something I definitely needed. The rest of the characters aren’t super well developed. Likewise, the mystery is a bit simple, but it kept my interest and reached a great climax. The thing to keep in mind is that this is a novella, and I read it in about an hour. As long as they remember the length, fans of the series will be happy with this story.

Book Divas (227 KP) rated Sands of Time (Fate of the True Vampires, #1) in Books
Dec 12, 2017
What an extraordinary and well written novella. It was as if Kesi herself was right next to me relating her story. I was quickly pulled in and hung on to every word and I traveled from ancient Egypt to Rome and Scotland and so many other destinations. This is truly not a typical vampiric read and I wish I could give it more than five stars. I can't wait for the release of the second book and I applaud this author's ingenuity.

Obsessed book reviews (49 KP) rated Rugged Texas Cowboy: A Western Romance in Books
May 7, 2019
This is two books in one, first you have cowboy and the captive and then cowboy and the thief. These books are classic romance stories with a sexy slant on them. These are two novella books. These books have plenty of characters development, a strong storyline and lots of hot and steamy scenes. I can't wait to read more in this series and by this author in the future.

Ashley Catron (66 KP) rated Rebecca's Lost Journals, Volume 4: My Master in Books
Mar 14, 2018
As the last novella in the "Lost Journals" set, "My Master" definitely takes the cake. The journals as a whole really add extra depth to the mystery behind Rebecca's disappearance, and really makes you wonder, 'Why did she leave? Is she okay?' It also sets up nicely for the second book in the "Inside Out" series, "Being Me", if you read it in the correct reading order. While the journals are not needed to understand the series, it definitely helps answer some questions.

Never have I read anything more perfect than this novella. EVER.
Colleen has yet to disappoint me and while Finding Cinderella wasn't necessarily my favorite book, Finding Perfect is definitely up there with my favorites! My heart juggled between hurting and joy, I laughed and darn near cried, I felt the swelling of emotion with every single page. If the title was enough of a spoiler, this is: I'm beyond ecstatic to see Daniel and Six get a happy ending!
