Not Stephen King's best
Either this wasn't directed very well or it isn't Stephen King's best novella. There seemed to be something lacking to make it a true psychological thriller. It consists of a man who manipulates his son into killing his mother in order to stay on the land and live life as farmers. And as expected things go horribly wrong from there.

But the thing is, most of the things that go wrong are expected if you're watching this kind of film. You know from the outset that the husband and son won't live merrily if they've committed this sort of crime so it's a total anti-climax. After watching King's other adapted film @Gerald's Game (2017), this felt like a let down.

The second novella, The Thief, shows us a more detailed and in-depth look at the Gameshouse and how it works, and how sometimes, not all games are fair. Remy plays hide and seek with a highly skilled player whose record of finding someone is 11 days. If Remy wins, he gains 20 years of the other man’s life. If he loses, he forfeits all of his memories. All of them. A hungover older player against a highly skilled young man who only plays when he knows he can win leaves us with a thrilling and unexpected end to an unbalanced match. But it ends, and the world goes on.

Short prequel to the first of Angus Donald's <i>Outlaw</i> series about Robin Hood.

Whereas the books proper are all presented as an ageing Alan-a -Dale remembering his time with Robin and were told in the first person, this is told in third person and is not 'book-ended' in such a manner. While there are a few other characters than the already-living-in-the-woods Robin and John, it also does not have such a wide range of characters as in the novels proper, and feels maybe a little bit rushed.

In short: an OK entry for anyone who hasn't read any of the novels proper, but I would still advise the reader to start with the first book rather than this novella.

Bjerner is blind and is also one of the emperors closest friends and body guard, unfortunately through circumstances out of his control the emperor is assassinated and dies thinking that its Bjerner that has betrayed him.
Bjerner is devastated and seeks comfort from Ophidia, a warm friendship that blooms into love.

Miranda has done it again! Another fantastic novella. This is the 3rd in the fairytales of the myth series and is the darker version of beauty and the beast. This one is a lot gentler than the other 2 but it doesn't take anything away from the story. She is truly a talented author

I deffinatly recommend this story but make sure you read the other 2 aswell! 4/5
