MsKris1031 (8 KP) rated Brave New World in Books

Very interesting. A bit more difficult to follow than many of the dystopian novels I've read. An interesting look at how one version of utopia works for a long time, but not for all.

David McK (3562 KP) rated Dragon's Child (King Arthur, #1) in Books
Jan 30, 2019
First in a trilogy of novels based on the legend of King Arthur, this is a fictional retelling of the early years of the life of the man behind the legend, from his early years as a foster son to the one of last of the Romans in Britain, up to his coronation as High King.
By taking the tack of telling the story of the man behind the legend, the novel loses much of the splendour and grandeur of that legend, replacing it instead with more mundane events that would become exagerrated over time.
While I may read the next two novels out of curiosity, I'm afraid to say that, based on this work, I wouldn't be going out of my way to look for any further of MK Hume's novels.

Easily My Favourite Novels Ever
This is one of my favourite books. It's got action, magic and just the greatest sense of dry humour. Highly recommend, it's a fun read :)

Stephen (188 KP) rated Relic (Pendergast, #1) in Books

This is the first book I ever read cover to cover without putting it down. Preston and Child have had me hooked ever since. Just the first in a long series of wonderful Pendergast novels.

Definitely not what I expected from this novel at all, I'm interested in exploring his novels for adults now. I loved that this was a book about the brothers Grimm and didn't see it coming.
