I still don't care for Yasmine Galenorn. I've read plenty by the other authors. This is the best I've read by Chance, and I'd LOVE to read more from the point of view of Lia de Croissets! I seriously hope that we'll see novels about her soon.

Novellas would be better expanded into novels (0 more)
Two novellas and a few short stories set in an alternate U.S.
I love the ingenuity of this world if the whole "hippo ranching" had come to pass. It's true, go google it.

Disappointing. One of the most highly anticipated novels on my summer reading list yet fell far short of expectations. I was unimpressed with both the writing style and the plot, it was simply boring. Although it has earned rave reviews from many it just wasn't for me.

This novel is junior fiction. I enjoyed the story, but not as much as some others that I've read along the same line. However, it is still a good, suspenseful read for kids looking for something that's got more grit than the regular old happy novels.

"It’s fashionable to read ‘Naked Lunch,’ proclaim Burroughs as a genius, sometimes dip into ‘Junky,’ and forget the rest. The truth is that Burroughs’ best novels were the ones he wrote in the later years of his life, like ‘The Western Lands,’ and this beautiful work."

"A brilliant social comedy seen wholly from a child's point of view, this is a dazzling technical feat that as always with Henry James deepens as it develops, like the life of the child herself. An exhilarating prelude to the great novels of his famous late phase."

An interesting collection of 10 stories that leave you wanting more. By that I mean you'll be thinking, "why doesn't he make whole novels out of these?" You can read my full review here. https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2013/12/06/ten-warmly-flowing-stories-of-louisiana/

Well, that was ... different.

This is a star-studded action adventure starring Bryce Dallas Howard as an author of spy fiction, who finds her novels becoming reality in a twist turny flick that takes a while to get going but is enjoyable enough once it does.
