Y'all this story was epic!

It combined historical fiction, a mystery, suspense + a dash of oh so sweet romance!! I think this is one of my favorite books to read this year :) I think I read the whole book in one sitting.
I loved Lisa. Her character is well developed, she is strong and shows grace, and courage when faced with interesting circumstances. Plus, I loved the vivid descriptions that Regina Rudd Merrick used to describe Lisa and Nick and their plans for the renovation; It was like I was in the house and could envision it right along with them!

The setting in the old house, combined with the mystery left me so excited to (hopefully) read Del's story next! I highly recommend this story for the great characters, interesting twists I did not see coming and for making the smiles along the way. 5 out of 5 stars.

*I volunteered to read this book in return for my honest feedback. The thoughts and opinions expressed within are my own.

The Star Scroll ( The Dragon Prince book 2)
By Melanie Rawn

Once read a review will be written via Smashbomb and link posted in comments

The second book of the "Dragon Prince" trilogy. Rohan and his Sunrunner wife are crowned High Prince and High Princess, and swear to keep the secret of the dragons. But a foe once vanquished by the Sunrunners is growing again, and their only hope lies in the long-lost Star Scroll.

This is one of those books that you start and think it’s never going to end. Then you slip into the lives of every single one of the characters and suddenly you are at the end! This book gives us the next generation set up for book 3. You can’t help but get hooked and excited to see what becomes of the hatchlings as sioned likes to call them! We see great loses and some loses we craved, I now look forward to seeing a old magic revived! Also dragons lots of dragons!

I was hooked from early on with this, the authors way of writing was different to other young adult authors. Maybe it was the fact that Violet was turning seventeen right at the start and therefore we had none of the sometimes annoying sixteen year old stuff that is in others.

That being said, Violet did manage to annoy me in regard to Lincoln on various occasions throughout but now I've finished the book I know it wasn't all her own doing, not at the end anyway.

I was Team Lincoln from the start (I seem to have this thing about picking the first guy mentioned in books, unless he's an arse of course) and fascinated by Violet's reaction to him. Then we met him and I think I sighed a little, because he seemed rather dreamy.

Phoenix on the other hand was a little iffy from the start. He seemed too good to be true and always a little dark, to me.

After the ending I'm interested to see where things go and will be starting Entice soon.

Spider-Man (2002)
Spider-Man (2002)
2002 | Action, Sci-Fi
The first major blockbuster Spider-Man movie hasn't aged particularly well, but it's overflowing with charm and a great cast.

Watching this as an adult is still as much fun as it was back in 2002 (when I was a fresh faced 13 year old). Tobey Maguire, Willem Defoe, James Franco, Kirsten Dunst, Cliff Robertson, Rosemary Harris, J.K. Simmons - all of them are really well cast and bring their comic book counterparts to life in a way that captured the imaginations of comic fans everywhere, all backed up by a fantastic score by Danny Elfman.

It's faults are few, but mainly in line with the first X-Men film - it's just doesn't quite stand up compared to comic films today and suffers from sub standard CGI and an early 2000s time stamp - I must say though - I have a special kind of love for the borderline Power Rangers villain costume that Green Goblin gets to wear...

Spider-Man is an important milestone in bringing comic books to the big screen, and will surely be enjoyed for years to come.

Nighttime Crime
Frank and Joe Hardy are shocked when they get the new request from their father, famed detective Fenton Hardy. He wants them to break into a house and steal something. Of course, it is to keep an invention for his client safe. However, doing that puts the boys on the radar of a gang of smugglers. Will they be able to protect the invention and round up the smugglers?

I remember as a kid the title really intriguing me. Yes, several scenes take place at midnight, but the title isn’t as relevant to the story as it might be. That hardly matters since the story is so action packed that it is hard to put it down. Coincidence rules quite a bit, and the characters are thin. Elements are also very dated today. So in other words, it’s a typical Hardy Boys book. Still, I take that into account when I pick up one of these books, and I enjoy the nostalgia I get from revisiting these old friends.
