a very fitting end!!
Independent reviewer for Archaeolibrarian, I was gifted my copy of this book direct from the author, and I thank Ms Kell for that.

This book takes place a year after His Fantasy, Brad's story, and is like a catch up on what all the brothers and their wives have been up to. And they are been doing a LOT of baby making! So it was great to catch up with everyone, all in one place.

It's a bit different that the other HIS books, in that the story is told from Jesse's ten year old daughter, Reagan and her Poppy, Blake Hamilton's points of view. Reading such polar opposites was amusing at times: Reagan is determined to follow in her father's footsteps, even if she has to go against him to do it, and Blake is still a little in the dog house as far as I'm concerned! Oh, he redeemed himself in His Family, but maybe not as much as I thought he had!

There is a lot of love here, with every member of the Hamilton clan, their partners and babies all here along with a new member of the family that is introduced here. Reagan and her new cousin are a well matched pair and they pull their sleuthing off extremely well!

It was so lovely to catch up with everyone, it's always sad to say goodbye and this was a great little catch up, a little time after the main books ended.

Very well done, Ms Kell, I'm just not a great fan of holiday stories!

4 solid stars

‘Tis the Season to be Murdered
Jessica Fletcher is looking forward to spending Christmas in her fully restored house, including a visit from nephew Grady and his family. The final work needing to be done on her house is a new septic system. When the workers start digging, they find human remains. It is quickly determined that one of the bodies is centuries old, but the other is much more recent. The investigation looks like it ties into the founders of Cabot Cove. What secret might the founders have been hiding that is worth killing for today? Meanwhile, in a bit of horribly bad timing, a tabloid TV reporter is in town to do a story about the high murder rate in Cabot Cove. What complications will that produce in the investigation?

Next to the Cabot Cove episodes of the TV show, the episodes with Grady were always my favorite, so I was thrilled to get to spend time with him here. Some of the other regulars seem a bit off to me, but that’s been how I’ve felt with the last few books, the only books in the series I’ve read. The mystery was good. I do struggle at times to get into mysteries that are set years before the characters we are reading about, but this book did a good job of tying the past into modern activity to make me care about the outcome. The ending was a bit abrupt, but it does answer our questions. The Christmas scenes were wonderful and put me in the mood for the holiday. This is a Christmas treat for fans of the series.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

A fantastic adventure story set in an alternative historical world that launches the career of a uniquely talented children's writer. In a fractured Realm, struggling to maintain an uneasy peace after years of civil war and religious tyrrany, a 12- year- old orphan and a homicidal goose become the accidental heroes of a revolution. Mosca has spent her life in a miserable hamlet, where her father was banished for writing inflammatory books about tolerance and freedom. Now he is dead, and Mosca is on the run after unintentionally setting fire to a mill. With a delightful swindler named Eponymous Clent, she heads for the city of Mandelion. A born liar, Mosca lives by her wits in a world of highwaymen and smugglers, dangerously insane rulers in ludicrous wigs, secret agents and radical plotters. She is recruited as a spy by the fanatical Mabwick Toke, leader of the Guild of Stationers, who fears losing his control over the publication of every book in the state. Mosca's activities reveal a plot to force a rule of terror on the Realm, and merry mayhem soon leads to murder..

I really enjoyed this. A girl trying to escape her fate she releases a prisoner and becomes his aide this is a full adventure for her and as she goes she learns a lot about herself and who to trust. It’s a hard road for Mosca but she has her pet goose to help her through. It’s a quirky world inspired by English history. Where books are dangerous.

UNFETTERED FEY is the seventh and final book in the Found & Freed series. I haven't read any of the others, but thought I would try this one after the author said they could be enjoyed as standalones.

Jade is the last of the paranormal boys to find love, and to be honest, he doesn't believe he deserves it anyway, not after nearly opening a Fey portal. That changes when he runs into Flyn, an old work colleague he had a crush on. It turns out that the crush was reciprocated, and they reconnect, albeit only as friends(!!!) We all know how that's going to turn out!

Jade and Flyn are total opposites but complement each other in pretty much every way. Although they try to take it slowly, events happen that speed things up. I loved that Flyn searched for Jade, not happy until he knew he was safe.

Personally, I wouldn't recommend this book as a standalone, as I feel there were events mentioned in here that I knew nothing about. I also found it a little difficult to fully grasp the connection between the boys, as I wasn't 'there' for anything they went through. And trying to remember who was with whom was just too much, and I stopped trying.

Saying that, I still enjoyed this story and would definitely read this series from the beginning. Recommended for those who have read the previous books.

FIGHTING FATE is part of the Monsters of London series and I highly recommend you read those first as most of this one takes place after those events.

We have two very different MCs - Vince, who has declared love off limits, and Dax, who is the cutest cinnamon roll who ever rolled! And when I say Vince has declared love off limits, I mean it. This dude has his heart locked away and only allows himself one-and-done's. That is until Dax! Even then, they have time apart.

This was a great read. Not only did I have the chance to see all of my other pairings and how things are for them after the climax of the other three books, but I also got to spend time with Dax and Vince. There are other characters here that I'm hoping will have their story told at some point too.

Told from both Dax and Vince's perspective, you get a nicely rounded story that was perfectly paced. I don't fully understand why Dax's old pack treated him the way they did and I really wanted an explanation for that. However, I did love how protective of him Vince was.

A great addition to the series that still gave me much-wanted time with Kieran's pack while following the MCs too. My rating is 4.5 out of 5 and HIGHLY RECOMMENDED by me.
