Finding a Killer Among the Bones
For their first assignment as part of the A.A. Western Detective Agency, Old Red and Big Red are being sent to Wyoming to help with security at a dinosaur dig. You wouldn’t think it would be a hot bed of crime, but as the brothers learn when they arrive, there is another group of paleontologists nearby, and the two groups do not get along at all. Still, keeping watch in the middle of the night sounds like a boring job, until Old Red finds a dead body. Will he figure out what happened before a killer strikes again?
It’s been several years since the previous book in this series came out, but it wasn’t long before I was back in this world. And it was delightful to return. As always, the plot seems to wander a bit, but at the end, we see that everything was important. I love watching Old Red weave everything together to solve the case. Likewise, the characters come to life as the book goes along. I appreciate the humor we get along the way. With the setting, it’s no surprise that we get a little more foul content than I typically read, but it feels realistic. This book teases the next case for the brothers, and I hope we get it soon. But for now, fans will be glad the series is back. If you haven’t tried these books yet, I recommend you change that today.

80s nostalgia! Brought back a lot of memories of my old Atari (2 more)
Well written with so much depth to all characters
Found myself "there" in the book, a rare and wonderful occurrence
One of the best books I've ever read!

I really stepped outside my usual genres with this one. Recommended to me by a friend, I decided to give it a chance. I was instantly hooked and could not stop reading it. Like the people in the book who lived in a virtual reality, I too found myself totally immersed in this book. I could see, feel, smell, touch and taste the world created by Ernest Cline.

I read this to my 8 and 7 yr old girls and they loved it. We didnt have to read the first two to understand this one. They loved how scary and yet not scary it was. They are asking me to read the rest of the series with them. The characters didn't scare them enough to cause issues with them but scared them enough to talk about how books aren't real. lol They also loved the adventure in the story and the characters were very fun. We will recommend this author to our friends with kids. So glad the author allowed us to read it for review.

Mark @ Carstairs Considers (2460 KP) rated Revenge on Route 66: A Tracy Eaton Mystery in Books
Mar 9, 2018
Tracy is planning to introduce her husband Drew to the pleasures that are Route 66. But when a family friend is murdered in a small New Mexico town, they find themselves having to solve a mystery 30 years old to find out why he died now.
These books are always wacky capers, and this is no exception. The mystery is well plotted, but Tracy's antics are a blast the entire way through. A perfect light mystery for any road trip.
And keep an eye out for a character named Mark Baker.

Erika Kehlet (21 KP) rated A Clue in the Stew (Soup Lover's Mystery, #5) in Books
Feb 21, 2018
What a great cozy even thought this book (#5) was the first I had read in this series, by chapter three the main characters all felt like old friends. The story is full of twists and turns that kept me guessing right up to the end, and the authors smooth writing style kept the story flowing. If youve read any of the Soup Lovers Mysteries, you should love this one. If not, nows as good a time as any to start you dont need to have read the previous books to enjoy this story, and I did enjoy it!
NOTE: I received a free copy from the author in exchange for my honest review.

Roxanne (13 KP) rated Baby's Very First Black and White Book: Babies in Books
Nov 14, 2018
I love to try my baby with different kinds of books, I would be over the moon if she were to grow up as a book lover like her mummy. She is almost 3 months old and she loves this book, it's filled with really nice patterns, pictures and also a few words for you to read. It's a really nice sturdy hard back and you can tell that a lot of thought and hard work went into this book. I would definitely be interested in looking for the rest of the set to show my bubba. To be honest, the patterns are so busy and fascinating even I enjoy looking at them hehe ^.^
