So much fun
This is exactly the kind of game that I love and is reminiscent of games like Diner Dash, Cooking Craze etc available on portable devices.

It is possibly the most frustratingly fun game I've ever played. Although one player is possible and it's alright to try and play on your own, multiplayer/couch co-op is where this game excels. Playing this with your other half could be a risky move, but it provides hours of entertainment and an excuse to be able to boss them around in a kitchen! It isn't just a free for all, you have to work together and figure out a strategy as the game gets harder, so it really encouraged cooperation (Although could also result in arguments).

The graphics aren't the best but it more than makes up for it with hours of multiplayer fun.

A multi dimensional multipath to victory game with bag building and worker placement.
This game is one of my wife's favorites too. So many different ways to win this game, and the special buildings are the key to different paths. I will warn you as a first time player, make sure you don't neglect the knowledge path (books) or the map, those are the key to the game, how you get those down are how you win. This game is all about how you find your personal efficiency, and use your strengths which you've built better than you neighbor. I've not yet played the expansions as we've played the central game only about 20 times so far, holding out on opening those up till after the base game gets stale.

Fun Futuristic Story
I listened to Warcross on Audible instead of reading it, so I am reviewing based on that:

Warcross is an extremely fun, fast paced book with a lot of action. I immediately felt connected with Emika Chen as I can remember being so poor I was living off ramen trying to figure out how to make more money. As I understood more about Warcross the game, I couldn't help but wonder how close we are to this type of technology. I also couldn't help but think of how similar this is to Ready Player One in the sense that it is all virtual reality. The added hacker aspect was pretty intriguing, however. It also loosely reminded me of 50 Shade of Grey, minus the sex scenes. The relationship between Emika and Hideo, the billionaire, seems unrealistic.

This is an OK game if you don't play any other tabletop games, the artwork is silly and can make you chuckle. (0 more)
The base mechanics are unimaginative, player elimination itself is not the best mechanic but add to it the extreme luck evident in the game, it feels like pure luck who wins. (0 more)
Exploding Kittens? More like explode with boredom
Exploding Kittens is a game trying to evoke emotions through a silly name and theme but the essence of the game, the gameplay, is lack luster and after a few plays is boring. I have owned this game since it has come out and I can count on one hand the number of times I have played this game.

The only positive point is that the artwork is great and the game is worth playing just to get a look at all the fun art.

Excellent theme
This is a game I consistently come back to as a lightweight game to spice up a hohum evening. I love the theme of this game and how the cards that you are able to buy play so well into the theme and add tremendous amounts of replayability to it. The mechanics in the game are super simple and I have no problem brining it to the table for gamers and non-gamers alike. Pertaining to it's wide assessibility, this game scales so well for all of its player counts. I've even been able to play a four monster game with 2 and 3 people. Lastly, this game was one of my first Yahtzee style, dice manipulation games, but due to my fiance and my enjoyment of the game, we've been excited to try more with the same mechanism.
