"Power corrupts, and absolute power corrupts absolutely"

Taking that maxim to heart, the third novel in Rachel Caine's Weather Warden series picks up from where the second - 'Heat Stroke' - left off. Set primarily in and around Las Vegas, this novel introduces a new organisation - the Ma'at - and also refers back to previously unmentioned events in Joanne's life. I also reckon you would need to have read the previous novels to get the full import of what is happening, what the occassional reference to events in those novels.

While still an enjoyable read, this also didn't quite grab me as much as the previous two in the series.

Afternoon everyone, I just wanted to check in again and see how you're all holding up at the moment? I thought it'd be good to get your views on what the best thing is about being locked down due to coronavirus? And what's the worst thing?

For me the best thing is definitely being able to slob around at home without having to get properly dressed or made up.

The worst is work. I'm working from home having to try and source PPE and equipment for a very large organisation, which isn't easy and means I spend most nights spaced out on the couch physically drained and exhausted.

I'm pretty chilled out, honestly. Staying home is what I do normally, so this has been heaven for me. It's been nice and quiet at my apartment complex and I'm able to get so much done. I've also worked from home before, so I'm loving this. The technology is the most annoying thing. I work for a state agency, so there are thousands of people remote accessing computers and VPNs, so the speeds aren't great.
The only things I miss are going to the movies, seeing my parents, and being able to get the groceries I want.
