A very interesting concept of highlighting criminal cases that an actual organisation called The Innocence Project is trying to overturn by exposing them on TV in documentary form. 3 sets of 3 episodes that focus on the evidence, the witnesses and the prosecution. Watching it in entirety will set you back a full 10 hours, so I recommend taking it in one at a time or in the sets of 3 it makes logical sense to group together. There is no through line exactly, only that they all share the distinct possibility of a huge injustice based on dodgy evidence, unreliable witnesses or a corrupt prosecution.

It is perhaps a little dry taken as a whole, but several of the individual stories are so obviously miscarriages of justice that it is worth observing just how easy it is for the system to get it grossly wrong, resulting in an innocent person serving a long sentence behind bars. As with a lot of these shows, the faith we should have in law and order is shaken to the core by what we can plainly see has happened. It is as terrifying as any crime in itself that if in the wrong place at the wrong time anyone could find themselves in the position of being accused and losing a large portion of their lives to the misery of pursuing freedom.

Oni is a third person action videogame developed by Bungie (west).
Released in 2001 it was Bungie wests ONLY game!?
The game focuses on shooting and hand to hand combat as you take on a reasonable amount of enemies, the gun controls are rather terrible and the combat controls are great providing you actually manage to land a strike.

ONI was originally planned to be released just for Mac, OS and Windows but was later ported to ps2 through Rockstar Canada.

The game was heavily inspired by Anime classics 'Ghost in a Shell' and 'Akira' which is very noticeable from the cover and beginning of the game (and also being set in a cyberpunk world).

Story:

Taking place in the year 2032, the world has become a dystopia due to pollution leaving very little of the planet habitable.

In order to solve the Global economic crisis, all nations formed under one banner....the world coalition government.

You play as agent Konoko (voiced by Amanda winn-Lee) a member of the TCTF (Technological Crimes Task Force), working against a crime organisation known as The Syndicate. Whilst blasting through enemies konoko begins to unravel secrets promoting more questions than answers.

The Girl in the Spider's Web (2018)
The Girl in the Spider's Web (2018)
2018 | Crime, Drama, Thriller
Another attempt at converting Stieg Larssen's very-popular-about-ten-years-ago characters into viable English-language multiplex fare. Film opens with implied child abuse followed by implied domestic violence (there's a lot of implication, in order to avoid the 18 certificate that scuppered the box office of the Daniel Craig/Rooney Mara movie), but this is mainly to set an authentically grim tone - the plot could fairly easily be retooled for one of the Bourne movies, as evil secret organisation tries to get its hands on apocalyptic McGuffin, hero gets framed for doing nasty things, and so on.

Not sure about Foy's 'Allo Sven, I got a Volvo' accent, but on the whole this is a decent, watchable thriller even if it does look a bit like an Ikea advert with extra gore. But the thing is that it is terribly generic. If the only way to bring these books and characters to the screen is to basically fillet out everything that makes them distinctive and memorable, one wonders why anyone should bother. (The producers of the film may be able to name 31 million reasons (at the time of writing), but this still hardly qualifies as a hit movie.)

(And I know it's a bit ungallant to say this, but Foy is 34 - at what point does she become *The Woman* with (for example) the Dragon Tattoo? The point seems pertinent.)
