This was totally amazing. I love a good demon series and this series has sooo much more then just demons. It has witches, demonesses, and so much more. I loved loved loved the tiny demoness. I loved the demon's mate. I do think that they are all idiots at times. The demons need to tell their mates who they are to them and stop trying to make it "easier" lol. They always make it worse. I was soo sad for Val, she is amazing and so strong but she went through so much pain to get strong. Jake is a favorite demon for me.. The pain.. the love.. how strong he is and how much he cares and how much pain he had to go through to become who he needed to be. I love them together with his niece. Amazing story and I'm so glad that I have been introduced to the writing of JL Sheppard. She is amazing!

Oh my gosh. The feels. I don't have words, but I'll never forget Cody's journey or the pain she experienced. If you've ever contemplated suicide, this is a real, harsh look into the hurt you will leave behind. My favorite book by Gayle so far.

A really nice collection of stories filled with a bit of everything. There is romance, love, passion and lust as well as heartache, pain, misery and loss. This book isn't full of just erotica (although there is some) it's full of real stories written by real people.

I'd give this a 3.5 if I could. Of the two stories, I was far more interested in what was found in the margins than the mysterious guy with amnesia and his ship. The props were kind of a pain and didn't always add to the experience.

Very Cool Book!
Excuse me for a second, while I go barf. OMG this book. Holy heck the gruesome descriptions of blood and gore and guts was SO RAD. I found myself cringing and fidgeting and yes, even feeling a bit nauseous in some spots - but totally in a GOOD WAY! Painless was exactly what I wanted in a super-unique, creepy, shocking horror-thriller.

Greg Owens is in pain. A LOT of pain. He fell off a ladder on a construction job, injuring his back, and his entire life has gone to shit. He lost his wife, his kid, he can't work, he's addicted to pills. He's desperate, and can't find anything that will help him get relief, so he can return to construction, or any job he doesn't need "Pills to pay the Bills" in order to to work. His addiction is keeping him from his little girl and he's resorted to getting pills illegally from dealers, just to make it though the day.

Dr. Dante Menta is running an exclusive clinical trial. He's been working on a pain relief technique for years, and promises a complete cure of all physical pain. Sign me up, right? We meet all the patients involved in the trial who have arrived before Greg. There are even animal patients. Some of them are seeking relief from back pain, or car accident injuries, others from auto-immune things like Lupus - and even chronic migraine headaches.

The patients are taken in one by one to get the procedure and at first, it's exactly as promised and the results are impressive! But soon, shit starts hitting the fan. Patients are starting to act really strange, obsessive, destructive. Things start to go horribly, horribly wrong. And it's incredible awesome to watch!

I thought this story was really different and the premise was immediately intriguing - it was a quick read, but written really well, and explores a dark side of both how people deal with pain management and also Dr. Mentas obsession with his life's work to find a cure. I would love to see this translated to a horror movie, and I'd be first in line to buy a ticket!

"Written after the end of WWI, which upended the globe, but set in 1901 in a provincial town where nothing, nothing, nothing at all can change, this enchanting, witty, shattering, profoundly compassionate fable-like short novel seems to contain all the world’s pain in an iridescent soap-bubble."

Beautiful
This is an amazing film. The film is gorgeous and it really covers the material that it focuses on really well. This film is a unique look into how to deal with the pain and hardship of having someone with a deadly disease in the family. Would highly recommend!

Movie Favorite

"The single most touching teen movie happens to come from Scotland. About the pain of unrequited love, but it’s also very funny. Gregory’s connection with his little sister who looks after him is one of my favorite screen friendships and almost makes me cry in certain moments. A perfect movie."
