The prolonged grief of watching someone suffer
Terribly sad to read Cathy Rentzenbrink's real account of watching her brother in a vegetative state eight years after a hit and run accident. It raises many moral questions including is it right to let someone live in pain or die quickly under horrible circumstances. This book is truly a love story between a sister and brother. Expect many tears.

This album spoke to me in so many different ways. When it came out, I had just gone through a bad break up and so when I heard songs like Ruin and Mercy, it felt like he was singing about my pain. I believe that music is very therapeutic so listening to this album helped me get through this tough time.

The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
The Shawshank Redemption (1994)
1994 | Drama
An emotional rollercoaster of a movie that I watch at least once a year.
It's a story told with such measured elegance that you cannot help but get caught up in Andy's prolonged pain and suffering, then uplifting euphoria when he finally orchestrates the ultimate revenge upon his cruel captors, I do not have enough space in this review to truly do this gargantuan movie justice.

Wow, very interesting read. I enjoyed how much they had to go through to be happy. I liked that it wasn't just easy peasy and everything was amazing. They are such sweet characters with so much pain and even more love. Very good story. Very glad I was allowed to read it for review

Interview with the Vampire (1994)
1994 | Fantasy, Horror
Action packed, intense, memorable characters
Based on Anne rice 1976 novel its focuses on Louis speaking to a reporter about his life. Absolutely one of the best vampire movies of all times Tom cruise and Brad Pitt were incredible actors they could not of picked any better. Exactly what I would expect a vampire to be like weird, action packed, suspense, pain, intense, love. A MUST watch

3.5 stars.

The thing with this series is that I get really emotionally involved with Abel and Devlin's relationship. The ups and downs and wrongs and rights they encounter make me tear up because you can feel the pain they're experiencing and it's a killer for me.

I've already bought book 3 and will be reading it as soon as this review gets posted.

"The level of craft at work in each of the poems in “Don’t Call Us Dead” is exceptional. These are poems about black men and their imperiled, impassioned bodies, what it means to live with HIV, and so much more. There is pain here but there is so much joy, so much fierce resistance to anything that dares to temper the stories being told here."

Rolling Stone's 224th greatest album of all time
I was dreading this, as Sweet Caroline is played at every Scottish wedding, birthday, christening and probably a fair number of funerals. I can't stand it's cheesiness, with accompanying drunken "bah-bah-baaaaah".
However, as this is the first track the pain is over quickly and the rest of the collection is OK, generic 70s rock.
