Book #1 in the Bay Island Psychic mystery series.

This paranormal cozy mystery was really mostly cozy, with just a touch of paranormal, but that was fine with me. I loved the protagonist, Cass. She and her friends were very well developed, and felt like a group of people I’d like to get to know. The mystery itself was well written and full of surprises. It took me a few chapters to get really sucked in, but once I did, I couldn’t put it down. This was a great way to start a series – I’ll be watching for book #2!

NOTE: I voluntary read and reviewed an advanced copy.

I seem to be having a bit of a problem with paranormal books at the minute. I don't know if I'm growing tired of the genre or I'm losing interest in reading (blasphemy!) but I got bored with this in places which is why it's taken me so long to read it.

I did enjoy reading the conclusion to Lila's story, and I even read the x-rated chapter that's free from the author's website, but it didn't grab me as much as it probably should have.

This is the third book by the author and I have liked them all, though I think paranormal may have to be avoided by me for a while.

I struggled with this from the beginning. I'd finish one of the short chapters and put it down for days, not at all interested in picking it back up again. Then do the same again a few days later. Until last night when I just decided to give up. It wasn't working for me. Over two weeks I've been reading this and I wasn't getting anywhere.

It may be that my taste has changed from my recent obsession with Paranormal/Urban Fantasy and back into Contemporary Romances as I've just read entire backlog of books pretty much back to back.

I may attempt to read this again at a later date when my taste changes back to paranormal
