BookwormMama14 (18 KP) rated Where We Belong in Books

The heart of the story is of course, Jesus. And how His forgiveness surpasses all of our mistakes. He is waiting for us to surrender the past to Him and let Him heal our hearts. We also take a little peek into the ancient manuscripts that have been found of the Bible and the proof that followed, that even though hundreds....thousands....of years have passed....God's word has not changed. The Bible we read today is the very same Bible that was originally written.
There were several plot twists and I honestly had no idea HOW this was all going to end. But Lynn Austin did not disappoint. She did a fabulous job weaving the storyline with flashbacks and several different viewpoints. I loved seeing into the past of the main characters. It opens your eyes to why they are the way they are ultimately.
If you are longing for an adventure....this is the book for you! Negotiate with a Bedouin Sheik, overcome the challenges of the past, survive the Chicago fire, and above all, see Jesus work in the lives of normal, everyday people and as a result....see their lives travel down an extraordinary road as they find where they belong.
I received a complimentary copy of Where We Belong from the publishers through Netgalley. I was not required to write a positive review. All opinions expressed are mine alone.
Whatchareadin (174 KP) rated The Bees in Books

The Bees is the most unique book I have read in my life. I can't say that I have read a book that was completely about bugs. It reminded me a lot of Bee Movie.
Flora 717 is at the bottom of the totem pole when it comes to bee culture. She is a sanitation worker. It's her job and the job of the other floras to keep the hive in tiptop condition. But, there is something special about Flora 717. She is bigger than others in her group and she is pulled aside for more assignments besides cleaning. When Flora is taken to meet the Queen, she finds out more and more about the hive she lives in and about the lives of past and future colonies. Flora breaks some rules in good ways and in bad, but throughout it all she must survive!
The Bees in most interesting. Even though it was about bees, I wanted to know what was going to happen next and how Flora was going to handle every situation. I learned a lot more about bees than I may ever want or need to know, but it's cool to get a glimpse into their world.

Laura Doe (1350 KP) rated We Just Clicked in Books

We follow Izzy who dreams of becoming an influencer as she misguidedly “fake dates” Luke who also dreams of becoming an influencer. Everything is fine until she meets Aidan, a blast from her past who makes her start to question everything. Aidan doesn’t know anything about her fake relationship with Luke and doesn’t use social media, so he can’t find out, right?
I love the whole idea of this book, and I love that it shows that we really shouldn’t believe everything that we see online. It really brings home that the majority of the content we see on social media really is staged and the “perfect lives” that we covet aren’t always as perfect as they seem.
I felt that some of the last part of the book was rushed, and it really left me wanting more, which isn’t necessarily a bad thing! I could have read so much more about Izzy, Aidan, Marissa and Becca and their lives. They were all so lovable! I’m looking forward to picking up more of Anna Bell’s books in the future.
