JUST BREATHE takes us through Repult's journey to brokenness and then shows us how God has begun and continued healing him and putting him back together. It is a book not just about redemption or addiction, but a bit of both combined. After following Repult's journey, he's included a list of tools we can use to allow Jesus and God fully into our lives to heal us and continue to use us.

Well written, insightful, and useful, I think particularly the tools section was helpful. He discusses the link between amends and forgiveness, which I have, in the past, felt was overlooked. This book is not just for recovering addicts who are trying to find redemption; it's a book to remind us all that we must be willing to admit our complete brokenness before we can be healed.

After a few pages, you forget they’re actually bees...
This is set in a Bee hive. Yes, really it is. I thought it would be in the style of Watership Down, but it's definitely a book for the grown ups. It's a bit scary in the respect that everything in these bees lives is regulated by the Sage level of Bee (there are various types of Bees, named after a particular plant. They all have their pre-ordained role in life, which they know how to carry out as soon as they hatch out of their final stage of growth). If you step out of line, you are destroyed. Kind of like the more hard-line societies around the world. And that's where it gets you. You start off reading about a bee hive, and you end up realising that people have lived like this in the past, live like this now, and will probably live like this in the future.

Four Stars

Jacob and Beth were a couple I wouldn’t have imagined together. They’re night and day but their relationship worked. The give and take was even and their relationship doesn’t require one to be less than who they are. The author did a really good job bringing these two together. I feel like the odds were against them and they proved everyone wrong. I loved that Beth stood by him when the going got extremely tough. She could've left him when his past came into their lives. The drama and trouble was too much but her love for him was so much more. Well written characters and a great story line is what you will get from this story. I feel the author added the right amount of drama and relationship goals. I liked that the characters from them previous book were included but didn’t over take the book.
