"The novel is set in three parts in the Ramsays' summer home, on the Isle of Skye. On the surface, Mrs. Ramsay — the devoted mother and matriarch of the family, and Lily Briscoe — a female artist committed to personal autonomy, stand in stark contrast of each other. Mrs Ramsay appears to have it all, but underneath, the responsibilities of being an ideal woman — a wife and mother — is slowly killing her. Throughout the first part of the book, Mrs. Ramsay is almost never without her knitting, a fact that becomes even more prominent in her absence, when the remaining characters return to the summer house after Mrs Ramsay’s death."

While I personally despise the label, I'm afraid that this book fits into the "chick-lit" category perfectly. Seriously, a book about a young woman's struggles with her nasty female boss who takes away her whole personal life in the name of fashion could hardly be something you'd see your macho male plumber reading, now could it? So yes, it's 100% pure, unadulterated "chick-lit", and anyone not looking for some fluffy, light reading material may close this review right now - I doubt you'll be interested in reading more. Of course there are first impressions that speak to Dave Matthews, but I also hear the influence of Bon Iver, certainly on how the vocals are mixed and with that classic heartbeat pulse. Mitch King achieves a real clarity of purpose with his song Believe:

“You will taste it if you can be patient
The more you believe, the more you create it”
— Mitch King

Mitch King lives his life on the road, and has created an impressive career on the back of relentless touring and an irrepressible love for life. We think that comes through loud and clear with this ode to achieving personal spirituality through shared experience.

Namaste.

This really felt like Lorelai Gilmore was in my head. There are so many little bits about the Gilmore Girls and A year in the life, but there are also bits about her personal life. The way it is written just makes you want to read and read until you run out of breath because you've been going too fast and haven't stopped for air.Of course, this isn't the case, because your reading......but you know what I mean! I had a HUGE smile on my face throughout this book, and you will too! Shooooo away from this review go and read this book!
