Lenard (726 KP) rated Mr. Soul! (2020) in Movies
Feb 20, 2021
The documentary itself is straightforward and takes you on a fantastic journey through the five year period that the show was on the air. It also explains how the show was cancelled. The film does leave one with the question what if Soul! had had a 20-year-run instead of a five. I believe that the Black experience would have turned out quite different. Some artists would not exist. Had poets, artists, musicians, and dancers had the platform, more Black artists would exist and more genres would have opened.

A beautiful, sad story.
If I could give more than 10/10 for Platform Seven, I would. The main character, and I’m giving nothing away here, is a ghost. She doesn’t know her name or why she’s there, but she knows that she’s dead, and she knows that she can’t leave the confines of Peterborough train station. However, two things trigger the return of her memories: a suicide on Platform Seven, and the appearance of a (living) young man in the station. We then learn her name, and the sequence of events that resulted in her death and afterlife at Peterborough train station.
This was a beautifully told story, and I’ll warn you now that you’ll need to read it with tissues at hand. I cried, and I cried quite a lot! This isn’t an action packed thriller. It’s thoughtful, emotional, and at times it’s frustrating. It’s easy to read a story and say to yourself that you won’t make the same mistakes as the lead character, that that character should have made different choices, but this book explains so well a manipulative, emotionally abusive relationship.
I would recommend this story - it really is well worth reading.
Many thanks to The Pigeonhole for serialising this outstanding book.

Oof. I get the draw. Cram a ton of your favorite 80's trivia into a futuristic plot and call it a day. And it is great fun knowing the things the characters praise as obscure puzzles and information. But there are problems. 1) Without the nostalgia of vomiting 80's references, there's little to glean from the story itself. 2) The extremely problematic relationship that the hero pursues that gives a platform for incel's everywhere. 3) An action oriented plot that kind of just sputters out. Rough finish. Great story if you see toxic online behavior as "misunderstood," though.

Great for eBooks
Like having a public library in your pocket. I used it, primarily, for audio books. I burned through the unabridged selection very quickly and stopped using it.
The eBook portion of the app is really good though. You can port it to almost any ereader and again, it is free just like the library.
If they would have a better selection of audio books that were not abridged, I would be back on this platform in a heartbeat.

Quick campaign
Ground war tries to emulate Battlefield
I would recommend buying this game if you are a seasoned fan of the CoD series, as this is the best installment to date. On the other hand, if you are new to the CoD games, I would advise you to research the game a bit more before purchasing due to the short campaign and lack of promised co-op content. However, if you are into competitive gaming, you can't really go wrong with this purchase.

Easy to be be lied to
While easy to keep on touch with old friends, said old friends can also keeep tabs on you with ease as well. Even in wanted people can collected information on you and act as old friends. This can be worrriesome
And it’s hard to fact check any special media platform and it can get you into trouble.
As long as you are careful the content is great and it it a great way to sta in touch with family and friends over great distances

One of the best JRPG's of the playstation era, set on Gaia, the hero Zidane starts a whirlwind adventure by kidnapping a princess. The friends and discoveries made on the way are a truly emotional ride. The music is masterful and the cutscenes were very well done for the platform. I have come back to this game many times, with all the side quests and mini games there is so much to do its possible to find something new after multiple playthroughs. Many hours i spent as a child playing this wondrous creation in the golden era of Square. Brilliant game i would highly recommend.

Its action-y. Stuff blows up, things fall down, crazy "that could never happen" plot. Is it entertaining? Yes. Would I watch it again on another platform? Probably. Is it going to get added to the 100 movies you must see before you doe? No.
The gist: if you like action movies and ate looking to be entertained for a bit, you won't be sad that you watched this movie.
