This is the first time I read any of Trista's poetry, but I'm so glad I did.
Sure, her poetry is not in any format most people are accustomed to, but that's actually why I loved it.
I loved the little photos/images inside the book - simple, sweet, delicate. I felt it went with the fragile and vulnerable tone of the book.

Her poems explore her own sexuality, her experiences with loss, loss, grief, and identity. It's modern poetry that reads like words tucked away, hidden on random pages of a forgotten book in the library and I loved this about it. I loved how random, thoughtful, sentimental, and raw some of the poems were.

Beautifully raw poetry, a glimpse into so many different degrees and emotion of living. The breaking and healing and how just putting the words to paper can start the process.

Rudy has a way with words. Whether it's reading them or hearing him speak them aloud, they hit home. Highly recommend giving this collection of poetry and prose a chance.

Wow, this book is an emotional roller coaster. I couldn't put it down. The writing wasn't amazing but the poetry aspect made up for it.

This book has you rooting for the characters and cheering them on in their journey. I wish that there was more character development. All in all this was a good, interesting book. I liked the combination of the slam poetry and the characters. It was definitely an entertaining read.
