Haley Mathiot (9 KP) rated Dragonfly in Books

I instantly loved this book. It's a collection of love poems with the feel of free-verse poetry. Some of them are sad, others are sweet, still others are affectionate. But all of them resonate with passion and intimacy. This would be a perfect valentines gift for that special someone!

This is the cutest and most aesthetically pleasing novel
"But you're not the kind of girl who builds her house from sticks; you are a fortress, stubborn and strong. Do not give away the keys to the kingdom to anyone less than a king."
I can not get over how much I love this little poetry collection. It wasn't your typical poetry collection and had a lot of underlying feminism within the context. I will definitely be holding this novel close to my heart and will be rereading it again. Everybody should be watching Lang Leav and should be grabbing her novels like they will be going out of style because she is an amazing author.

Poems to Live Your Life By is a book of poetry collated and illustrated by Chris Riddell. People who read my blog regularly know that I obsess over Chris Riddell, which explains my reasons for buying this.
The collection is just beautiful. Each poem has individual illustrations surrounding it, bringing the poem to life.
Even though I dislike poetry as a whole, there are a few poems that I love, and some of them were in this collection, including Digging by Seamus Heaney and Jabberwocky by Lewis Carroll. Even though I have read these poems multiple times, the illustrations made them feel new to me, because it almost gave a new interpretation to them.
I also discovered some poems that I hadn’t heard of before and now love, including Thirteen by Kate Tempest, and Safe Sounds by Carol Ann Duffy.
This is definitely a book to buy for the poetry lover in your life!

Poetry is one of those things that requires a rare talent to do well. Like a work of art a poem must transcend it's physical representation and excite the subconscious. This collection of short poems illustrates that perfectly.
A great anthology to dip into now and again, each poem demands an emotional response from the reader. Even when the actual subject matter may be obscure, the feelings and power behind the words is clear.
This is definitely worth reading and reflecting on, even if you are not usually interested in poetry

Finding the Flame ( A Collection of Poems)
By Katie Nox ( Katie Everwood)
⭐️⭐️⭐️
A collection of poetry from Katie Nox, the poetry pen name for author, Katie Epstein.
Finding the Flame is all about the journey of how we become lost in the dark to find the flame that guides the light.
Hurt.
Healing.
Growth.
Empowerment.
Self love.
It's all about having reflection, to change perspective on the strength we all possess.
Ok so first of all this it’s becoming a little annoying trying to find books by this author as there are so many name changes it makes your head spin!
The book itself was so sweet and the poems were just lovely! Some very relatable! That’s all they were though was sweet!
