Fantastic violent origin story for Batman's butler
Young Alfred Pennyworth is recently back from duty in the war and looking to set up his own security firm. His need for justice to prevail and his cunning and physical abilities mean he gets himself into trouble quickly and frequently. A great political plot starts to reveal itself underneath Alfred's life story as is his place in the outcome of it.

"Roger Ross William’s extraordinary, immersive chronicle of the Apollo Theater affirms that cultural expressions can be and are political action. In a film full of amazing performances, the moment of Billie Holiday singing and performing “Strange Fruit” is so alive, so emotionally open, at once ferocious and calm. Her serenity is profoundly unsettling, and we see not just a genius, but a freedom fighter using her voice as a weapon."

"When, in the 1970s, I began to search for films made by women that would reflect feminist engagement with cinema at the time, Jeanne Dielman appeared as the perfect answer to a feminist cinephile’s dream. Akerman conjured up a world and a rhythm of life that had never appeared on the screen before, and did so with an extraordinary and radical beauty, political intelligence and mastery of both storytelling and filmmaking."

"I discovered the music of Nass El Ghiwane during my travels in Morocco, and I was thrilled to finally see a restored version of this film. Apparently Martin Scorsese caught this movie on late-night public access television in New York and fell in love with it. He helped with the film’s restoration and rerelease. The footage of these guys playing and their political charge are incredible. Thank you, Marty!"

Beginning of the Rebellion
Probably the weaker of all the Star Wars spin off series. Very low on action a lot of the time. Set in the build up to Rogue One. This seems to show the beginning of the Rebellion movement. Star Wars fans will no doubt love it but it was dragged out at 12 episodes.
