"William Klein, an expat photographer, looks at what drives the USA, a cocky hubris. Delirious colors and comic realities of the American way. Serge Gainsbourg music! A riotous pop art telling of the George W. Bush era long before it came to be"

Rolling Stone's 472nd greatest album of all time
A brilliant album, with a wide range of songs. From the anthemic Faith to the soft pop of Father Figure to the filthy sex songs. A great listen overall and a demonstration of his diversity.

A strange film, that seems totally random at times. It has a bit of an insight to the lives of a range of people in early 80's LA. From the spoilt rich kids, drugged up pop star, shady ex-con and a news reporter. The stories are very loosely interwoven. This is far from being anything like Crash though! There doesn't seem to be much of a plot to it at all or any conclusion. Just a brief look at their lives full of sex, drugs and 80's pop. A shame given the very strong cast list!

FUNKO POP! Altered Carbon Takeshi Kovacs (Wedge Sleeve) Review - FUNKO Pop! really do know how to appeal to Film and TV lovers. While not every character is available yet (where’s Jack Bauer?!), the franchises they do have and created are amazing. This Takeshi Kovacs is no exception, looking exceptionally cool with two guns in his hand. I don’t have many Pops because I have a massive DVD and Blu Ray collection and no where to store them but I do have my favourite Bonds and John McClane on a shelf. This will go nicely within that set. Thank you Smashbomb!

I liked a lot about this book. And I respect it 100% for how it influenced pop culture. But the dialogue was so dated (especially when the children were talking) that it really took me out of the story.

Some Girls by The Rolling Stones
Some Girls by The Rolling Stones
1978 | Rock
With its aggressive, punchy sound, mile-a-minute new-wave tempos, and unabashed embrace of nightlife sleaze, Some Girls was a purposefully contemporary late-’70s pop record

Reference laden escapism
Cline isn't the first to use this idea (life is rotten so let's all hang out in the virtual world instead!) but no one else has done it with such gleeful cramming of nostalgic pop culture references. Some very clever ideas, and decent writing.
