How could I not pick up a book about a group of people who call themselves the Alechemists and make the perfect cocktails to give themselves powers to fight off demons? This is a dream novel for everyone who always picks to play as the mage character. (Like yours truly) Also I would like to take the time to appreciate the fact that coffee baristas act as healers in this story. Thank you Mr. Paul Krueger and cheers.

A good action film with a popular cast. Not bad SFX, but the story gets a bit weird at times?! It kinda has a X men feel to it with the characters having different special powers, but it isn't as good as those films. It maybe could have done with a few more actions scenes, there is a lot of dialogue and scenes waiting around deciding what to do next. Worth a watch, if nothing special overall.

Betsy the barmaid is discovered to have psychic powers by a visiting American. Evan doesn't believe until Betsy shows up at his house with a vision of a dead body - a vision that turns out to be true. Does she truly have a gift? Another great read with a strong plot and charming characters.

I wanted to like Stohl's version of Carol Danvers... Wanted being key. This book (and the 'Mighty Captain Marvel' series) skews to a younger demographic, that I'm just not part of anymore. I know they want to get young readers, so it does accomplish that, I think.
Yet another rehash of a story that's been told over and over. How many times does Carol have to lose control of her damn powers? Nothing new here, move along.
