"For many years I had a problem with Emma, as compared to, say, Pride and Prejudice. I loved ‘P and P’, and I loved its practically perfect heroine, Elizabeth Bennet. Emma, on the other hand, has a much more problematic heroine: Emma Woodhouse is bossy, controlling, obstinate, pigheaded and manipulative. In short, she is horribly like me at my worst. Getting older has mellowed me in many ways, and now that I like to delude myself that I’m not as much like Emma Woodhouse as I used to be, I’ve grown to love the book. Still, Pride and Prejudice is probably my favorite book ever, ever, ever."

"Pride and Prejudice. I love sweeping British drama period pieces and I hope that one day I can do one just like that, because, to me, I love old English literature. And I’m a big Keira Knightley fan. It’s just so beautiful aesthetically and in terms of story."

"In 1974, when I was at the Berlin International Film Festival with Little Malcolm, I met Fassbinder. He was then making Ali: Fear Eats the Soul, which I think is one of his best films. It’s a wonderful observation of social and racial prejudice, and of youth and age."

I couldn't finish this book it felt to much like pride and prejudice with some zombies thrown in. I quit reading at 26%. I really wanted to like this book but I just couldn't get into it. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advanced Reader Copy of this book from Netgalley.

"Sparer, more savage and so much more poignant than “Pride and Prejudice,” (a great book, too, and I don’t mean to disparage it at all,) “Persuasion” is a novel that tells us, as only Jane Austen can, about the vanities and follies of being human with such memorably dry wit."

I watched this film a while ago now but although it has some good scenes of the fighting and stunts in the film I've found it was a bit of a cliché love story but I still prefer this over the original pride and prejudice film any day

I really enjoyed this movie version of Pride & Prejudice. Since it is a feature length movie and not a mini series, it cuts quite a bit from the book but I thought that most of the cast was great and the score was beautiful.

A lovely romance novel, with lots of moments that will make you giggle and feel sad, approve and disagree with Very and Johnny's decisions all the time - an adventure that you can't afford to miss this time - especially if you are a book lover and `Pride and Prejudice` is one of the many books you truly love!

One would expect something amazing to come from the late, world-famous murder mystery writer P.D. James taking on a sequel to Jane Austen's most beloved novel "Pride & Prejudice." Could this be a match made in heaven or just a literary crime? Find out from my review here https://tcl-bookreviews.com/2013/10/18/a-match-made-in-heaven-or-a-literary-crime/
