[Hater] by [David Moody] was recommended to me by my spouse. Since we have greatly different taste in books I put off reading it. Plus the bloody cover was off putting to be honest. Even though I read end of the world and zombie books graphic violence is usually not my thing but that was not what this book was like at all. Instead it was almost a psychological thriller that left the reader as well as the main character wondering who really were the good and bad guys.

Slow and a little tedious

This psychological thriller began with tinges of a David Lynch film, and finished with an inconclusive, fluffy conclusion. The lack of connected thoughts and plot made it difficult to concentrate - it makes some sense as it is supposed to be a reflection of the protagonist's mental state - however it was not well executed.
It's starting to get a little predictable with the abusive spouse story - this kind of storyline definitely needs a revamp. The performance was fine but the thriller was a little too drab.

Someone is watching on over you.
This is a Spanish psychological thriller staring Luis Tosar who does a cracking job as one of the guys you never hope to come across. I caught this particular film on the Horror channel of all places and, I was pleasantly surprised by this tense and dark film which at times had me on the edge of my seat and just a little freaked out. If this film was meant to be a bit unsettling, it did it well.

Hard hitting read with lots of home truths
It's great to hear some real topics being discussed for a change - feminism, domestic violence, mental health and the justice system. The story is extremely dark but realistic sadly, and it's great that the writer did not hold back in showing all the different tenets of a personality. Some of the story was predictable in terms of who was sending the graphic emails, but rather than seeing it as a detective story, it's like a psychological analysis into people's characters.
Intriguing and interesting.

Not just a good horror movie, a good movie
I Love horror, I am not a diehard Steven King fan, although I did try to tackle the book after seeing this movie. I’m used to jump scares and have always had a pallet for the psychological thriller aspect. But I’m this movie all the nit picky details of what makes horror good fade away because the shots are amazing the child actors are hilarious, endearing, and down to Earth. I’ve never appriciated a movie labeled horror more for its cinematic and story telling qualities.
