Visually striking, but also very violent. (2 more)
Definitely only one for the adults!
Brutally bloody and thrillingly callous from first to last.
Not on par with Pulp Fiction. (0 more)
Quentin Tarantino's long awaited fourth film.

Finally done moving. TV is set up. Watched Pulp Fiction for the first time in probably 10 years. It has aged well. Plan on spending more time on here once unpacking is finally finished!

Tarantino penned, Rodriguez directed goodness. The best movie to show people who have never heard of it before as it transitions halfway through from a pulp crime thriller to something completely different. Oh, and Tom Savini as Sex Machine

After writing some of the best screenplays of the 90s, including True Romance, Tarantino's directorial debut wasn't seen by most until after Pulp Fiction took over the world. Those who did see it knew right there that QT was something special.

1994 saw 3 of the most memorable Best Picture nominees in the same year of all time.

Here's how they broke down for box office performance:

Forrest Gump - $329 million (top grossing film of the year)

Pulp Fiction - $107 million (10th highest grossing film of the year)

The Shawshank Redemption - $28.3 million (51st highest grossing film of the year) - sad to say beaten by In the Army Now starring Pauly Shore

Here are their current IMDb star rankings:

Forrest Gump - 8.8
Pulp Fiction - 8.9
The Shawshank Redemption - 9.3

These films are all about to turn 25 years old in a few months. Although Forrest Gump won Best Picture in 1994, has it endured as well as the others? What do you think?

Which is your favorite?

Feel free to also comment your thoughts below. I would love to hear them.

"I’m thinking of a bunch of gangster films I’d like to include, like Bronx Tale is a particular favourite, but my final choice is Pulp Fiction. It’s a film I never get bored watching. It’s shocking, it’s stylised, it’s clever and the soundtrack is kickass."
