"This compilation is like plugging into a direct line to your 15-year-old self. And somewhere in there is me right now. It sounds strange because I'm now 50, but it never really leaves you. It's just weird how that can energise you. Even for music that's not like it. I can put this on and it's like it gives me power, almost like turning on the batteries. Of course, we don't sound like a punk rock band from '77, but it has that energy that's universal and you form it into where you're going musically. I put this album on the list because it's a power source that got me through a lot of these recordings, and strangely enough I sound nothing like it. Punk rock is the hydrochloric acid where you get that frothy explosion in the beaker."

WE STAN
I love I love I love. we stan. Look at this diversity! A hijabi Muslim girl, MULTIPLE GAY BOIS, a gay girl, punk, POCs, and so, so, so much more. It's gorgeous, so, so perfect, I stg I binged it. I really wished there were more episodes a season, considering they're all so short. Otherwise, it was a beautiful show, and very, very, very great.

Exceptional album
As Friends Rust were already good, then this came out and they became legends. They seemingly took fast old school hardcore punk with pop sensabilities in a Day Nasty style but only sounding like As Friends Rust.

Damien's gravel voice goes from growl to crooned while the music rages on. This is hardcore meeting indie without ever being post hardcore. It's just perfect

"Kathy Acker was a punk-rock, post-modern writer-artist and she wrote this piece after her mother died. The title says all there is to know about her feelings towards her mother. Acker’s writing coalesces to its most epic as she reinvents, bends, and destroys language, to build a world that is a complete psychological immersion and creative experience. Her books are a gift to humanity."

"This is a record that has really been a soundtrack for life. One of my older brothers had this so I got to hear it really early on when I was about 9. It melded in with the other records I started to hear later on around 79 when I was 15. I had a basis for punk rock, and this was it – Raw Power."

"This book is the best insight into unknowable Russia, a country I’ve been fascinated by since I studied its language and literature at school and university. It’s the pretend biography of a real-life Russian contrarian, poet, politician, anti hero and punk, Edward Limonov, whose life has shadowed Putin’s and who is now one of Putin’s biggest apologists. It’s a totally brilliant, badass book."

Good but not quite there
Slaves are like marmite. You either love them or hate them. In my instance, this album is what made me come to enjoy Slaves, but in no way do I recognise this at their best album. As much as it's full of punchy punk revival bops, they aren't as well thought out as I think they possibly could be.

The iconic masterpiece that cemented Eastwoods Hollywood career, and was one of the 1970's best vigilante cop movies to boot.
He shares screen time with a 357 Magnum and delivered the "Do you feel lucky, punk" phrase that has become synonymous with cop movies since.
Not the best film in Eastwoods career but one that sticks out in pop culture and is enduring.
